  • Cecilia PDL diary

I have 7 Payday loans. As you know from the other thread, I decided to get on top of things, when one of my PDL's did not reloan this month. I am still trying to sort out my Income and expenditure. It is sobering realising how long I have had some of these PDL's and how much money I have thrown away. I have never defaulted on any of the loans, but now have to, to get my life on track. The end of every month was a constant juggle, and most of the time I paid all my PDL's back in full, then reloaned. A few of them I would roll over. I got into a bit of a muddle last night when I was doing my Income and Expenditure sheet, and did not include all my debt. I wrote to some of the PDL's offering a repayment plan, now realising, it was not complete. Anyway, I have not written to everyone yet, and doubt the PDL's will accept what I have to offer.

This is the email I have received from PaydayUk, it would be helpful if any of you could advise me how to respond to it?

Is Salt and Vinegar on holiday at the moment?

Thank you for your recent contact and request for a repayment plan.

We understand that there are a number of reasons that someone may experience financial difficulties and we will deal with all cases of financial difficulty sympathy and positively in line with our Good Practice Customer Charter.

If your circumstances have changed due to shorter term personal illness or an agreed absence from work then we can also help but we may require a copy of the doctor’s certificate, hospital letter or confirmation from your employers. So that we can determine how we may best assist you, and provide you with an affordable repayment plan, we request you complete and return details of your income and expenditure as shown below:

Other Monthly Income (Benefits, Pension etc): £

On receipt of this information, we will assess the income and expenditure information you have provided and contact you shortly afterwards. In the meantime your account has been placed on hold for 10 calendar days whilst this information is being provided and assessed.

Please be mindful that a repayment plan does not vary or release you from the terms and conditions of the signed loan agreement. If you fail to comply with the terms of repayment plan we have the right to obtain payment of the full amount outstanding together with accrued interest and charges in accordance with the terms of your agreement with us.

If your account remains in arrears 120 days past the original due date, whether an agreed repayment plan is in existence or not, we may register a default on your records with credit reference agencies. Re: Cecilia PDL diary

Just received this email from Pounds 2 pocket, could anyone advise how to respond who has had dealings with them

Thank you for contacting Pounds to Pocket in regard to your account. So that we can ensure were providing you the best possible arrangements, we need to ask you a few questions. You may respond to the questions via email or by phone.

            What is your monthly income?
What is your monthly rent or mortgage?
How much are your monthly utility bills?
How much are your monthly living expenses such as food, transportation, personal goods, and social activities?
Do you have any other major monthly expenses, and how much?
How much are you attempting to have your payments reduced to?
What date can payment be taken from your account?
Will payment be taken from your debit card ending in xxxxxxx with an expiry date of xxxx.

Once we have received your responses your account may be referred to a manager for review/approval. Keep in mind if your account is approved for acceleration this will have a negative impact on your credit. This needs to be completed before your account can be reviewed for a reduced payment arrangement. Valid banking details are required for all arrangements. Collection procedures will continue until an acceptable payment arrangement is made.

                      Hi Cecilia,

You are under no obligation to provide "evidence" of anything.... and under no circumstances should you make phone contact. If you have emailed/written, then that is sufficient; you've stated your case and put what you can afford. If they find it unacceptable, then they'll need to get over it because they can't have what you don't have to give.

My advice to you would be to ignore any ploys to make phone contact and make the payments you have informed them about regardless of whether they like them or not.
                      Remember the mantra:
                      NEVER communicate by 'phone.

                      Send EVERYTHING by Recorded/Special Delivery
Keep a copy of EVERYTHING sent
                      Keep hold of EVERYTHING received

                        Hi PriorityOne,

Thank you for responding.Don't worry I won't be making phone contact. Yesterday I had 19 missed calls. I have lost track of the text messages sent.

Mr Lender keep on emailing, texting, and calling, not acknowledging the email sent as you can see in the letter . I emailed them on 28th, sent the same email again today.

Have written to five of them so far with offers. Am waiting to see if they send their bank details. Pounds to Pocket wanted debit card details. They obviously ignored the bit in my letter saying my card had been cancelled.

8 missed calls so far today.

Persistant little blighters aren't they? Never a good idea to give debit card details... or to set up a direct debit. Make sure it's a standing order that gets set up because you control the amount that gets paid that way. With a dd, a company gets to change the amount, so a standing order will safeguard you against that.

We have a telephone harassment letter in the template section which needs to go off by rec. delivery now, I think..... as the frequency of these calls is ridiculous. If you have trouble finding it, please let me know :-)

in my opinion.... you also need a stiff letter getting them to freeze interest and charges, as there seems no point in you paying anything if it's being used to line their pockets instead of reducing your debt. Is this something you've already mentioned in previous correspondence with them or not?

Thanks. Yes, I had standing order in mind and had put that in all the letters. I also mentioned freeze interest in previous correspondence, but none have referred to it. Will have a look for the telephone harassment letter.

                              Priority One,

Please send me the link for the telephone harassment letter, I could not find it.

Just had another email from PaydayUK asking me to pay up. Yet, yesterday Payday UK, had acknowledged my letter, asking for Income and Expenditure. No linked up working in these PDL's!
