TSB admits 1,300 accounts hit by fraud amid IT meltdown

Life savings have been stolen from TSB accounts by fraudsters "exploiting" the bank's IT problems, with 1,300 people losing money. On occasions, people were waiting on the phone for up to nine hours to report cases, the bank's boss Paul Pester has told MPs. He said that 70 times the normal...

    Invisible Man's UE diary

Background to how I got into this mess:

Around 10 years ago I had a well-paid job and a top notch credit score. I had a few credit cards I hardly used, but no outstanding debt. I went into a lone business venture for a pension pot. I borrowed heavily through bank loans. They couldn’t...

    O2 Default - Didn't know I had

    Hi there,

I reviewed my credit file today and saw that I have a default recorded by O2, which was under my closed accounts, for £20. Of which I paid anyway. Bizarre.

Apparently the account defaulted in July 2012 and I had no idea this happened. And especially for £20!!

    MisterK UE Diary

Here is my diary at last.

(A little local difficulty getting the username agreed with MrsK, but everybody's happy now I'm pleased to say).

About six years ago, in need of some help and well before I found AAD, I paid some money over to some CMC's to get "certificates of...

The start of a debt free life

Hello all, just a little about me - my hubby and I have found ourselves in big debts altogether, and after browsing through this forum over the past few days (which has already turned out to be super helpful and supportive) we both made a decision yesterday to stop making payments in anticipation of...

    CCA

So after months of deliberation I have decided to go down this route. I have debts both pre and post 2007 that are still outstanding. Is it worth sending off for post 2007 agreements as I get the impression these are exempt. Also do I send to the original lender or to the DCA? Any advice, including...

    Curiosity re DCA liquidation

I saw a comment on a thread (forgot which one), saying that Experto had gone into liquidation. I have looked at their website and the liqiodators statement of what to do if they were handling repayments etc, and one of the things on there was basically not to SAR Experto as the liquidators will not...

    Reconstituted Agreements

I've been reading the excellent AAD guide to UE as a result of which I think I've got a better understanding of most aspects of UE, or so I thought at first! I'm sure I read somewhere that for Pre-April 2007 credit card accounts reconstituted agreements are NOT "valid, true copies and unacceptable"....

    Checkng for 'previous debtor'markers

Has anybody ever requested a SAR from a creditor where the debt is SB and Default annulled?

Most financial systems delete records after 7 years of the last activity. The cost of maintaining, archiving records, and recalling archived records is high. So will past creditors keep and check...
