I have balances on a Flybe and Tesco Mastercard that i am hoping to port over to an Interest free card with view to paying off ASAP.

My most recent default was June 2011 so I called my Bank (lloyds) to see if i was showing eligibility for one of their balance transfer cards and sadly not. Call taker advised to call back on the 13th of the month as that's when their records are updated.

I will do this, but assuming its a no, should i:

    a) give it some more time (3 years clear of default was June 2014) and try Lloyds again
    b) See if its third time lucky with Creation and see if they will give me a second balance transfer card
    c) Try and pay of the flyebe ASAP, close it and see if they will consider me as as new customer to pay off the (would be one Mastercard off)
    d) Get an Equifax report just incase one of the DCA's has put something naughty on there i don't know about!

I should add i have followed Niddy's advice on paying a bit more than the DD's on the two cards and also i know Lloyds isn't a CPD99 marker as they allowed me a second current account back last year with a debit card.
    Cheers!

Just called Lloyds again and i am not pre-approved a balance transfer card due to data provided from the credit report agencies. ah well.
Other than stop moaning, any suggestions welcome!

          Re: Moving money about

I was passing a Lloyds branch on Saturday so called in. Fella there said nothing pre-approved and must be a result of CRA as cant see anything wrong with way accounts are being run.

I guess just wait a few more months and see if Lloyds offer me one, or i guess i could try and get a second balance transfer card with Creation.

This is assuming something hasn't been added to my credit file of course! Or the other option i have is to shut the **** up

That's a shame mate. Have you tried opening hbos accounts as it's easier to get plastic out of them - or Bank of Scotland

              morning mate.
I certainly could try that, but just to re-cap your memory (i could never remember a fraction of the framework and different members situations as you do!) - should it be relevant:

I have an outstanding loan with Sainsbury's (and not sure if it would start a cauldron up)
You said i didn't have CPD99 because Lloyds gave me a second current account with debit card
I was with Lloyds prior to the merge with HBOS.

Sorry if that has no bearing at all!

Edit: Did you mean try and apply for a credit card with RBS, or set an account up and see what is offered (if anything). I notice they offer an approval indicator

                Re: Moving money about

How old is Sainsburys loan (last paid/default date)? Cross business don't utilise ROSo - Barclays / Barclaycard being the exception to that rule so if you owe Sainsbury's that shouldn't impact too heavily on HBOS (likewise, Lloyds)....

As a Lloyds customer do you see available overdraft like hbos used to give - presumably it's the same processes? I'm wondering if you go to bank of Scotland site and login using Lloyds details. Does that work? I could login to Halifax and BOS but not Lloyds.

Anyway im not encouraging you. Lloyds is fine. Stay with them for now pal

                    Re: Moving money about

But if you try and edit your OD it's not a live app. It's based on internal score since last feed so just try and increase it a few days after the monthly feed update and you'll find eventually it'll say no (your internal limit maximum).

Try £300 and if yes try increasing in various multiples lol. Mine went to over £3k at one time. I started with £1300 and entered £2000 (applied immediately) I then put £2500 (again applied immediately) I then put £3k and after it applied it I thought sod this. Lol. I never did see my maximum.

I think you/Lloyds said they update on the 15th, so is it worth trying £300 now, or waiting until next month
