  • PDL Diary

Right i tried the nicely nice approach to PDLs i owe and for two months have got nowhere at all! So i am switching to Niddys PDL Templates (the living in car ones! ) and thought it would be good to create a topic seeing how we get on. Something tells me this topic could run for a year or two, in a similar vain to Jons PDL hell

          Hi Winjas

With the exception of 1st stop I have dealt with all of the above.

The PDL 'industry' is under heavy scrutiny at the moment. Should you get any hassle from them theres lots we can do to put the pressure right back on them as a couple of the ones you mention above are at risk of losing their consumer credit license (though how real this actually is may be open to debate).

I think we can get them crawling back under the rocks they have come from.

              Re: PDL Diary

Payday express are a right bloody nightmare. I was getting that number of calls, one from a London number and one from a Nottingham one. I used call blocker on my android mobile which worked a treat. Eventually they gave up.
I assume they are coming to your mobile?

I would send a suitably edited telephone harassment letter noting that they are silent calls.

If it helps I found Wonga have shut up.
WDA have been like a dog with a bone,
PDE went quiet then have passed it on to DCA.
Quick quid screwed up and sent me a letter saying the account was closed with a zero balance and had not been sold to anyone, that really pissed off McKenzie Hall
PayDayUK (I think that is MEM) were a pain and I eventually went to the FOS about them. My complaint was upheld and they offered me a vastly reduced payment or possible write off. I have not been back in touch since

These are not all companies listed in my PDL hell thread...I never learned my lesson although I have now. Some of them are from a while ago when i was on a DMP

              Hope that helps

                Thanks Jon

Yes my mobile phone, record was 26 calls on Tuesday! All from there 0115 number. Sadly my phone can't do any kind of call blocker. I usually hit accept call and then hang up! Not sure if this is best approach. I better have a look and find the harassment letter.

Also today had second email from WDA, asking for a form completed (income, expenditure etc).
So now have 2 PDLs wanting forms returned, what's best response bearing in mind the email I sent them is Niddys PDL template 1. ?

                        Hi Winjas

That is unreasonable and harassment in anyones book. What you need to do is to answer the phone, refuse to answer security questions, state that you do not discuss personal matters on the phone, and ask them not to call again.

You then send the telephone harassment letter.

If they ignore both of these, which they will invariably do, then as long as you continue to keep a record of the number and frequency of the calls you will have real grounds for a complaint based on harassment.

                        best

Remember its very likely that the I/E sheets they have sent you will not be in the recognised Common Financial Statement format, will not accept the recommended trigger figures, because they want it to be weighted in their favour to get more money than you can realistically afford.

Besides, even if you were on a DMP, or making payment arrangements, payday loans, like catalog debt, is the lowest of the low when it comes to priority.

                          What letter could you write?

                          Dear Mr PDL company

I refer you to my letter dated xx/xx/xxxx.

I am not sure which part of it is difficult for you to understand?

Your latest correspondence, which appears to be a poorly thought out template letter you send to all your 'customers' does nothing to acknowledge my personal circumstances or your conduct in relation to responsible lending policies published by the FSA.

                          Let me be clear:

I am not in a position to repay this loan, nor am I ever going to be.

Consequently, I refer you to the case of "Arkell v Pressdram" as my response and opinion will be of the same nature.

                          Or something like that anyway.

Just make sure you're clear what the reference to Arkell v Pressdram means - you may not actually want to quote this though it would be fun if you did
