  • Payday Loan Companies - How they spam you for new business

    Hi All

So over the last couple of years my mailbox has been bombarded with emails from payday loan companies for new business.

Now apparently the payday loan industry has cleaned up its act, and doesn't encourage people to borrow more than they can afford etc.

So I thought I would start keeping a daily diary of the number of marketing emails I get from these companies to see whether this is really true or not.

I'll record this in the following format:

    Payday Loan Company:
    Amount I can allegedly borrow:
    APR displayed on email: Yes/No
    APR (if displayed):

To get started this is what I've received today:

    Payday Loan Company: Txtloan
Amount I can allegedly borrow: £300
    APR displayed on email: No

    Payday Loan Company: Gatekey Lending
Amount I can allegedly borrow: £1200
    APR displayed on email: Yes
    APR (if displayed): 1737%

    Payday Loan Company: UKPayDayToday.co.uk
Amount I can allegedly borrow: £1000
    APR displayed on email: Yes
    APR (if displayed): 1737%

    Payday Loan Company: PayDaySource.co.uk
Amount I can allegedly borrow: £1000
    APR displayed on email: Yes
    APR (if displayed): 1737%

Now what is interesting is that THREE of those emails gave the same postal address namely 145-157 St John Street London.

This is also the same address as my friends from Quick Quid (aka Cash Euronet). Nothing like transparency is there?!

    Best

they must have got your email from somewhere because i dont get those sorts of spam mails.

Most spam is general mail shots but i think paydayloans are specific marketing based on email subscriptions from somewhere

That's a virtual office, kind of like our registered address in Manchester, ie we're never there!

See this ---> Virtual Office Services | London Virtual Offices or this one Mail Forwarding, Business Address | London Presence

^^^ Not a suggestion to use these firms, both are way overpriced in our opinion!

I've never had PDL spam despite using an email address I registered in 2001 where I've received all sorts of other spam and hundreds of phishing emails. But I've never applied for a PDL!
never applied for a PDL either but the offers keep coming(although if we applied even they would not be that stupid)

I used to get them after checking insurance on Co Compare.

As they come through, just add them to your Junk Senders list.

Yes this is most likely the case - and why it demonstrates that these companies do not care one iota about our personal data, nor bombarding people to take out further credit at exortionate interest rates.

What I find really disturbing is that Quickquid are bombarding me with emails under different trading names. I wonder what were to happen if I were to apply to one of these companies and handed over my bank details?.......
