  • HSBC & DG Solicitors

I took out a loan in 2008 with HSBC but lost my job, so couldn’t afford the repayment. I informed HSBC and they passed the debt onto DG Solicitors and I have been paying them ever since.

What I want to know, as I have also just found out that they are HSBC's 'in-house' DCA (like Reliable Collections are for JD Williams), can they add a charge just for handling the debt as I have requested a full payment history from them and they have sent me one.

There is a charge of £66.62 and then the debt listed. If I can, I am going to question this amount with them and demand it to be removed from my debt as I don't see why they should add anything to the debt.

As they are their 'in-house' DCA they didn’t 'buy' the debt and there should be no 'handling fee' (again, like RC, who charged me £99 a pop for 2 accounts they took over but I managed to get them to admit they were ), I don't see why I should have to pay it as well as the loan debt.
I used to be afraid of the post... Now I look forward to it - so I can stick it to the DCA's

Have you ever requested a CCA for this ?

How much is the loan for ?

not heard a thing for over 2 years now....

I think Niddy was going to suggest that but for some reason didn't?

Niddy, if you're there, why not?

Deepie looks after the UE stuff and if he suggests a course of action, chances are I will agree anyway (he knows his stuff).

I don't know why you never sent for a CCA, but it is the correct course of action here.

It's DG you're paying isn't it, so send it to them.

I had a 2007 Halifax loan. Did you get the papers couriered to the house to sign, Pookie?
