  • One account - two entries on credit file

    Hi,

    Wonder if it is legit.
Seen my credit file on noddle (Call Credit) and account I used to have with Barclaycard is listed under Closed Accounts as Satisfied (which is derogatory status I suppose, as long as it is not Satisfied).

    It looks like this:
    Barclaycard £0 30/06/2011 Satisfied

The account has been sold to Mkdp and is listed again under Open Accounts as Defaulted.
    Mkdp Llp £3,014 15/03/2012 Default

Similar situation is with another Barclaycard account sold to Arrow Global, i.e. 2 entries on my credit file: one Satisfied, another one Defaulted.

Now I think my credit file is showing double the amount of derogatory entries for those two ex-Barclaycard accounts.

Is it OK? Or do I need to contact CRAs to have it sorted?
Or is it a minor issue as I have 4 other defaults (so in total 6 defaults plus those 2 satisfied entries) and I should not bother with it and lose any sleep over it?

There should be one default. The satisfied entry is a true reflection and thus will stay, the default will also stay as this shows the actual default.

The settled one will cause no harm to you so it's not a problem in that respect...

you have what problem mate? Duplicate defaults....?

If so raise a dispute and request removal of the duplicate.

Pretty much as above mate. One account two entries. One showing history and Satisfied - original lender. Then DCA one showing outstanding balance and full history.

This is accurate then mate, as you do have one account settled with the OC which will sit dormant now until the 6yrs are up (the 6yr CRA reporting history) - the defaulted one will change as per each sale between DCA's - the default date must remain however the actual dca name may well change.

Remember the settled account cannot cause any bother to you - it's the default that causes the trouble.

Still looks weird though - as if there have been three defaults in total.

Default dates are same - is just dates on paperwork that are dodgy.

you never mentioned there were three defaults.

You said one entry from OC and one showing the default. So what is it? Is there 1 entry plus 2 dead default entries then another?

If something is settled and so long as it's not a settled default, it will have NO effect/affect or otherwise on anything.

Re: One account - two entries on credit file

If there are separate entries, each with a default for the same account then that is wrong.

Whether it worth arguing about considering what else is ion you file is another matter.

I would suggest you screen print the entries and send to Niddy. That way he/we can say for sure whether it's wrong or not.

That's what I implied above - first he mentioned '3 defaults' was in that last post

                        I'm just confused now

It's these Welsh - you know how it is

Oscar, mate - blank the top part out with your name etc and post a screen shot in mod section for rizzle and me to check, as I am tied up for the weekend and won't be here much....

Just remove the name and dob. The other bits don't matter - we need to see the lender though so leave the top line semi-intact!

                            Cheers
