Hi folks
I had more blood work done yesterday (fastings) due to some abnormalites last Nov).
As some of you know I was prescribed statins 3 months ago, I was told to perservere with cramp pains which did get milder in the end.
This was prescribed for cholesterol reading of 6.1 at the last test in Nov 2012.
And my kidney function in Nov 2012 was just that of 50GFR (that is classed as stage 3 kidney disease) although not actually -officially diagnosed as yet.
Anyway, I rang my surgery for the results today, only to be told that my GP had tried ringing me several times, my answer machine playing up again, so luckily I did ring myself and was told by the secretary there was a message left for me to let me know to come off the one lot of blood pressure tabs called Perindropril, and that I MUST go to see her first thing in the morning. (The secretary said she didnt know why) but it could just be to discuss the results and to explain why they want me to come off that tablet. (These tabs are supposed to protect the kidneys) despite the fact they were to treat my BP.
I asked the results of the cholesterol and was told it was very good and she gave me an overall number of 4.7, so yes I am very happy with that.
And kidney functioning has risen by one from 50gfr to 51 GFR which is better than decreasing, although not a lot of difference and the secretary said, the doic has put that down to being stable and just to keep monitoring.
I am so worried and baffled on why they insisted I have to go to see my doc in the morning and am also anxious on why they taken me off that particular tablet.
Maybe they want to take me off statins because of the good outcome, but goodness knows.
I shall let you know tomorrow when I get back how I get on.
