    Please can anyone advise?

I had a Barclaycard, and had an 'arrangement to pay' after getting into trouble I the early 2000's.

After checking Noddle recently, I noticed this account has all green marks 'up to date', but are mostly marked AP. There is also a balance of £15.

As far as I was aware this was paid off in 2007, but upon checking old paperwork today, it seems the last payment I made was a direct debit of £25 in July 2007 and there is a scribble by me saying £15 odd. I thought this last payment had come out, but maybe it didn't going by Noddle.

I would like to get this sorted and the account marked as settled/closed.

Now, how would I go about this.. Is this remaining £15 now statute barred.
The account is not in use (haven't had the card since early 2000's), and I'm currently trying to claim PPI etc back on this card.

I'm thinking to write them a letter saying I've noticed this, and can they remove the AP's?

Here is what I see on Noddle.

Are you aware of ever having a default on this account? If you were on an arrangement pay that suggests you were behind with your contractual payments so the account should have been defaulted. It's showing your AR was running since at least June 2008. If Barclaycard had defaulted you before (as they should have done) then I believe the whole file entry should vanish from Noddle and all the CRAs six years later.

You don't want the AP marker removed or the account marked settled, you want the whole file deleted don't you

I'm not aware or any defaults on this account, surely a default would show on the credit file.

I have sent them a letter asking them to remove the account, so I'll see what happens.

I presume if you paid Barclaycard the £15 outstanding balance then they would have no option but to mark the account settled. But I don't know whether that means they would be obliged to remove the account from the CRAs. You say that your last payment was in July 2007 but you also say you noted the £15 outstanding so at that point the account wasn't settled.

They should have defaulted you within 3 - 6 months of the first time you didn't make the full contractual payment due (when was that?) which you say didn't happen, so you could end up going to the ICO to get this sorted if they won't play ball.

Are you still living at the same address as you were then because Barclaycard have been correcting default date errors recently and sending out letters to inform old customers. Did you get one?

I have moved 3 times since taking out the card, so no letter about defaults, but they do have my current address as I'm trying to claim PPI at the moment.

Barclaycard have simply replied saying "Thanks for your letter.. the outstanding balance is £15.. if you require any more assistance let us know".

That's it, no reference to AP, credit ref agencies or removing anything.

                  Re: Barclaycard AP markers

I had to go to the FOS to get Barclaycard to remove the AP markers on my credit files. It took a long time.

                    Re: Barclaycard AP markers

AP Markers can ONLY remain if there was any such agreement to pay. If not, formally complain to the bank THEN the CRA's and finally the FOS. You'll be referring to the FCA Consumer Credit Sourcebook & the ICO Credit Agency Reporting Guidelines.

Just to update this, I emailed David Chan @ Barclaycard explaining and asking for the markers to be removed, and got a letter saying they would!

They even sent me a cheque for £25 as compensation.
