You don't - it will only appear on the index page. I want it there for social integration, It cannot be removed - unless you don't visit the index page.

I almost added it globally on each page, but then felt that might be a bit annoying.

Ahh now see one of the mods said this as well, BUT all you're doing is liking a page. Nobody would be able to link you (your real FB details) to your forum alias - how could they?

Can you from those that have liked the site tell me who is who? I mean can you tell me who those that liked the page are, on the forum? I can cos I know most your names but other than that, it's very remote.

As I say, it's an option to share the site - if you feel as strong as I do about debt and getting word out there that there is help then sharing or liking the site is a good thing.

I'm not in debt yet I run this - do I care what people think? No!

I recently liked a big-titties page on FB, not because I have a thing for big titties but because the jokes posted were funny. My wife never threatened to divorce me cos of it

Not wishing to be argumentative , but could you clear up my perceived ambiguity between the above statement and the following comment made by you earlier, I am a little confused.

From "Elephant in the room thread"

"And that's why we are proud to be different.

We don't want growth. Ideally as years go by our posters would drop, meaning we're doing what we set out to achieve.

Please by all means express whatever opinion you like but don't forget our ethos - we help those that need it. Therefore we do offer a very long helping hand to newbies. We don't expect people to come here and be clued up. I never set us up to be like that, this all stemmed from my having one unenforceability section on MSE.

The users here are happy with the way we operate and unless the majority ask for change then we can't change things. We are not CAG or the likes. 100 opinions does no good. We stick to basic principles and have had reasonable success so far but the user knows that ultimately whatever they do or don't do is on their own decisions. We only offer help and guidance.

So although at present I tend to "check" cca's - we don't presume it'll go legal at that early stage and if it does, we deal with it as and when. As I say the users here on AAD are best suited to answer this but I think you'll find they are happy at the way we currently operate.

We are however building a cca checker that will give you basics based on user input. It'll be automated using Ajax script and easy to use. So that'll also allow a lot more user self-diagnosis which we'll link to templates or additional help as necessary, depending on the outcome of the user entries."

Please by all means express whatever opinion you like but don't forget our ethos - we help those that need it. Therefore in answer to your question, we still tell people about us so they know of our existence.

                        Obviously!

Unfortunately/fortunately this will case the forum to grow, which is what you want/ don't want.

                          See my confusion

This was my original point, if the forum does grow you will not be able to operate the same way you currently do.

I am not talking about your ethos, that can remain as long as you want it to.

You may like to consider this,or you may disregard it as a, "nonsense argument", but i do not think you can deny the logic of it.

No I think you're quite deliberately confusing being noticed so we can help people to being like MSE where its out of control, commercialised abuse.

We are doing fine and going exactly where WE want to go at the right pace. Don't you worry about that, that's my job.

Also in anticipation of change we'll be adding an automated UE checker so things will change, lots going on behind the scenes - that's one thing, we're always adapt to change.

Listen there is no argument; what will be will be. None of us can predict what is around the corner but for the same respect we're not gonna be a silent mushroom lingering in a dark corner whilst people piss on us from above aka CAG et al.

So in essence I will advertise us and if that means growth we'll sustain it and adapt to suit it.
