You say where we want to go, are you sure this is relevant, most on here are going to be gone when their immediate problem is settled, so you are talking about where you want to go. Personally I think that if you are going to be providing this service to future contributors you are going to have to re-consider how it is provided.

Not worried, I am not deliberately doing anything, just making an observation, I hope you can sand well meaning comment.

Far be it from me to make suggestions that may not conform with your ideas, but I think probably will anyway(if I am allowed)

I fully understand the facility offered here and applaud it, I just think that if you are going to roll it out you cannot do it using the same methods you currently employ.

Re: facebook request keeps on appearing

No no I definitely mean we as a forum. Unlike a lot, I've been here from day 1 - before AAD existed and do know, follow & contribute to several hundred people. The thing is I listen. I also see what's needed and make suggestions to the site team whom have a say in what we do (other than when I want to change styles like the other day lol).

The point I'm making is that right now it works. I can't see into the future. We've made mistakes in the past and I'm sure as hell we'll make more in the future but that's what adaptive change is all about. See I notice earlier you dismissed our ethos which is core to everything done. We are progressive. We like to be one step ahead and succeed where others have failed hence I take on board everything you or anyone else brings up.

I'm aware I'm not able to manually do as much as I could 3 years ago hence I'm already working on an automated process which will obviously entail change as to how we look at agreements in cases of complex issues. So yes we're accepting change, yes we know it'll occur and yes I'm happy for whatever.

You need to remember what I say isn't gospel. The forum speaks for itself. I just guide it where I think it's best suited and right now I feel we need to be seen and if that means mass growth so be it; we'll change overnight and grasp it with both hands. No worries.

If you have any useful ideas please post them on the site feedback thread. We welcome user feedback as it helps us learn.

I'm the forum administrator and I look after the theme & features, our volunteers & users and also look after any complaints or Data Protection queries that pass through the forum or main website. I am extremely busy so if you do contact me or need a reply to a forum post then use the email or PM features offered because I do miss things and get tied up for days at a time!

If you spot any spammers, AE's, abusive or libellous posts or anything else that just doesn't feel right then please report them to me as soon as you spot them at: webmaster@all-about-debt.co.uk

Re: facebook request keeps on appearing

For what it's worth, the way I see it is that as time goes on a proportion of people we help will no longer have problems.
Of these, some will move on but some will stay to help others with their knowledge gleaned along the way.
This adds to the base of helpers as we go along, to deal with new members we attract by putting the word out.
So it's a gradual, organic growth, but cannot happen without input of new members, a proportion of whom will themselves ultimately become helpers. Hence the need to advertise...

I think Scabhunter is a very good recent example.

Don't think I did, I think perhaps some misunderstanding here.

I believe that there is a place for DMPs, and payment plans as opposed to unenforceability.
Some are happy to repay thier loan albeit after 15 years as long as the interest is frozen, some do not want the bother of repeated threatening letters from DCA's and creditors.
I personally have helped many on this road some who are approaching the end of the agreements and we are looking into getting their DNs re dated to the beginning of their plans.

One size does not fit all, what you provide here is a useful and unique method of getting out of an situation where previously there was no hope, I look at what is currently happening on the legal section and see cases where if it were not for this forum people would have been the victim of summery judgments, and i see the value of what is offered here, but it is not the full story, and there is more than one one way to skin a cat(cue clever clogg's)

Re: facebook request keeps on appearing

Think that is what is so great about the forum if I am honest.

                    The mix.

As Elsa says new people arrive some are helped and stay some are helped and go some dont want helping for whatever reason.

But the forum is a shifting sand.

Without the experts on bits and bobs it wouldnt be where it is. They are needed all of them

But at the end of the day its our own stories, we have to write them ourselves. The forum team and the wise ones are guides.

For everyone who stumbles across this forum by lets be honest mistake or luck there will be thousands upon thousands suffering in silence as this industry shafts them.

If some publicity opens someones eyes then it cant be bad.

When you go onto the other well known brands they either dont have the expertise assembled here or they tend to want you to be the bank fodder for the internet warriors.

They are not really thinking of the the debtor more of how they can show the bank they hate the most a thing or two.

This site has interesting, informative and if I am honest healthy debate.

I suppose the only way to stop my pic appearing is to "unlike" AAD or to make my two user names substantially different. As it stands it is not that difficult to identify me

Jon, I think Niddy's point is how can anyone link you to your name here from your real name on facebook. They can't.

When you like anything on facebook, they will use your link to it. It is part of facebook. Why shouldn't AAD do the same.

The forum is growing and becoming more user friendly as a consequence. There is a lot of hard work gone into the improvements, all for free, and I am sure you will agree the forum is the better for it.

I don't know of anywhere else that folks could get this level of help, advice and truth.

After all, no body has to suffer adverts for caller ID, DMP providers and pay day loans on this forum.

As AAD grows due to success, changes have to happen.

Vint what i was saying is that my name is Jon and i was born in 1965. By looking at the Facebook profiles that show you can hazard a good guess as to who i am. I am not overly bothered and i suppose that it is my fault for using identifiable details.
It was just a point. If i was that bothered i would have un liked AAD
