Over the last few months I have been getting emails to a non secure email address I.e anyone with access to my pc can read them. They are from Lucas credit services and are to do with a payday loan. The amount is about right . As far as I know they are jyst collecting so not like marlin.

What worries me is that these emails have detailed the amount owed and to whom it is owed. I decided early on that I would wait for something in the post which has never arrived.
I have never replied as I don't want to confirm the email address but am concerned about data protection and things.
    Any advice.

Set up a new email address (Hotmail or the like) only you can access and then complain via that or write to them. Both ways are possible on the link above

They will not alter what they are doing unless you complain.

Is there any reason why you are not wanting to contact them? It seems a bit vague as they are doing something you dont like them doing but you seem somewhat reluctant to contact them and make representation to make them stop.

    Bit more background would help.

      Re: Lucas credit services

All I have ever had from them is emails saying they are collecting this debt. I have heard nothing from txt loan at all.
Reading various forums the advice always seems to be ignore until you get something in writing. The other advice seems to be to ignore fishing expeditions which all these seem to be.

I am happy to complain but does that not just alert them . Its been 3 months in between emails. I will try to copy them and post them up if I can.

I understand that advice if you are trying to stay under the radar for any reason.

That advice doesnt help you if you are concerned that Lucas Credit are sending details of a debt to a shared email address. Where, how and when they got hold of this email address is neither here nor there. They have it.

You either have to accept this fishing type activity on your shared email account, close this shared email down or you have to complain to the company fishing.

Only you know the lesser of evils here.

Is this a PDL you have actually had? If you did who was it with and when did you default on it. How much is it for.

Salt and Vinegar on here is pretty good with PDL's. But they will need some clarity about the history if you want advice.

Be aware there is a forum downtime coming so you may not get a reply for a couple of days.

          Lucas Emails.pdf

That is a copy of the emails. I took out a pdl with txt loain 2012 but after being diagnosed with a serious illness I was off work. I wrote to txt loan with a copy of a letter from my GP and giving them another email address. I offered to make a token payment plan. They totally refused to reply so I said until they did I would not talk to them. Last september I started to get emails just as I was given the all clear and got back to work. To be honest I will repaif I have to but txt loan need to reply first

People that I share my life with I.e my partner and kids who have access to the pc. Obviously not a major concern but still they shouldn't be sending emails with sensitive data on it to an email address they do not know is secure.
If the had phoned they would have wanted to know everything for security because of data protection. Why should this be different.

As it happens as soon as I get them I move them to the cloud which is password protected.

                    Re: Lucas credit services

                    Hi Lucas

Ok well the good news is that the emails look like ordinary fishing fodder to me. Just ignore them and do not be tempted to respond to them. If you can, set up an autoforward rule on your mailbox to route them elsewhere.

If they do happen to contact you by telephone please just tell them you only discuss financial matters in writing, hang up and do not speak to them.

                    So onto Txtloan........

I need some basic information from you to start:

                    • Date loan taken out
                    • Date a payment was last made
                    • Status (i.e. did you discuss a payment arrangement or just stop paying)?
                    • Did you have to fill out an application form and do you have a copy?
                    • Were you given any pre-contact information or fact sheet so you could assess the affordability of the loan that was being offered to you?
                    • Were you given a credit agreement and if so do you have a copy?
                    • I know Txtloans didn't do 'rollovers' but did you ever do an immediate 're-loan' and if so how many times?
                    • If you did were you provided new pre-contract information and new credit agreement each time and if so do you have a copy?
                    • Did you receive any arrears notice/letter also containing information on where you can go to get advice on your debts?
                    • Have you received any sort of default or termination notice to your POSTAL address?
                    • When was the last time you sent any correspondence to them (either by email or post)?

I'm assuming that you must have changed your bank account (or at the very least card details), otherwise they would have tried to automatically taken payments. Is this correct?

                      Hi SaltnVineger.
Personally i prefer cheesenonion. I bet you have not heard that before.
I did think they were phising which is why I have never replied.
I will have to check what I have but yes I did take a loan out with them, not sure when 2011 or 2012. I have had some letters but from someone else. Advantage? As I said I need to check them out. I think I agreed a repayment plan of about ten pounds a month but am fairly certain I haven't paid them.

I think i had an email saying it was a default notice . I will dig around and see what i can find.

                        Hi
Well I have checked it out.
It was £100in June 2012 . I got a pre contract form and various activation emails. I dont have an agreement but i may well of done, seems strange how i kept everything else but not that.
As soon as i got into difficulties i contacted them but it was an online form. I have notifications of receipt but no content. They were obviously bothering me because I have an email where I told them I had sent all the evidence they wanted and u til they could process that to go away.I got a default notice that wasn't a default notice it just said if you dont contact us it might be included in a nationwide database.
It then went to equidebt at 272.50 . They wrote to me and kept calling and I think I said £10 per month but didn't pay. Nov 2012 it went to advantis got two letters to my home address and phone calls.
Then it went to lucas who haven't called or written just emails.

I don't want to wake them up if I can help it.

I see they are now myjar.

Sorry - been away with work and just catching up.

If they are just emailing you I would leave them for the time being. They have no idea if the address is valid, but the second you respond you will validate that it is. Wait for them to write to you and let me know if they do and we'll deal with it from there.

Think this thread is morphing into something that the OP originally didnt ask.

Indeed not to reply or anything is the correct way if the non payment is what you want. (for whatever reason) This was the advice given by other forums and confirmed here. I agree with P1 and S & V on this.

But the original post was more about how to stop them emailing to an email address that isnt secure and can be seen by other members of the family.

Reading the thread again we seemed to have moved onto ignoring them which leaves the OP with his original question unanswered.

OP needs to state clearly have they now accepted without contact this fishing will continue????
