Ok was hyper-ventilating there but back to normal

So, I am right in thinking that sooner or later I will be defaulted and it's 6 years till it falls off from default date so the sooner the default is recorded the quicker it'll fall off? Makes sense I guess.
Say for example the recent CCAs are enforceable - what happens then? Do I want to force them to sell to DCA and reach a F&F settlement?
I've read a number of diaries so think I know the score (more or less) on what to expect of the merry-go-round of letters regarding unenforceable debts.
If I'm stopping the current DMP, do I write to my creditors? If so, saying what? Should I send a token payment?
