  • Anyone heard of Mercantile Recovery Solutions?

Hi everyone, hope you are all well.

Due to ill-health over the last couple of months, I haven't posted/been on this forum as often as I would have liked but have had a lot going on and have had to cease fire on dealing with a lot of my non-priority debts.

I am slowly making my way back to sorting all this out, but would like to know about this outfit called Mercantile Recovery Solutions. Has anyone heard of them or had any dealings with them?

For the last couple of months they have been bombarding me with text messages (just a reference number and so unless I called them I didn't have a clue who their "client" was or what "debt" of mine they had purchased)and I have had a few emails from them (I don't use this email address often) and have recently sent me a "formal notice of litigation" letter on behalf of their client Payday Express. I've attached a copy (personal details redacted) and would just like some advice as to whether I should start worrying about these muppets getting trigger happy with their finger on the MCOL button.

    Thoughts/advice?

These clowns deal with payday loans usually - they are muppets

      Thanks Niddy.

I have a few PDLs from the last couple of years and none of them have ever sent me (from what I can recall - will have to dig through the paperwork to confirm) a formal notice of intended litigation before so just wanted to find out if anyone had or knew of anyone where these muppets had actually made good on their threat!

Also, I have just had a look on my computer to see if I could find a copy of the agreement and on the electronic agreements it states "This is a credit agreement regulated by the Consumer Credit Act 1974", but on the letter it states "AS REGULATED BY THE CONSUMER CREDIT ACT (2006)". Have they ballzed up there?

No the 2006 Act is an updated version of the 1974 Act with the relevant amendments, such as the repealling of s.127 etc.. It's the same thing, in essence.

        What is the balance, approximately...?

          Thanks Niddy.

The amount is just shy of £600 but this I think comprised of two loans. Do you want to me attach them?

Ok thanks, no need to send me anything - it'll be fine, don't worry about them they are unlikely to commence legal action - it's scare tactics....

They are part of DLC/Hillesdon (securities) I think.....

Best is to ignore them, pure ignorance works best with these clowns

I will go back to the job of not letting them affect my health recovery!

Just out of interest have they sent you all the Dns and stuff?

I am no expert at dealing with PDL's but I am an expert at taking them out and as of yet (touch wood) they are all quiet

Re: Anyone heard of Mercantile Recovery Solutions?

Just done a search of the OFT public register and the only CCL at that address is for Accuired Debt Ltd which lapsed 14/6/2011 and I can find no mention of a CCL on their website, so seeing as I am a nasty bastard i am going to email them, from one of my "special" email addresses (the type I use for the odd bit of trolling) and ask em.

I recently saw off some outfit in glasgow who didn't have the proper licence
