Welcome Finance never acknowledged my consumer questionnaire

  • Welcome Finance never acknowledged my consumer questionnaire

    We took a loan out with welcome finance in June 07 and was basically told we had to take ppi to be approved for the loan. I sent them the consumer questionnaire on 17th May 2012 but I still havent heard anything from them.

    What is the next step to take? I did not send it recorded so do i need to resend it recorded so that i have proof that it has been sent?

      I would be inclined to chase them up via mail to start with, recorded delivery. Give them 7 days in the letter to respond.

      If they do not respond then you need to ask for their complaints proceedure. I beleive that you need to follow this, before complaining to the regulator.

      They should pay within 28 days of your claim.

        All Welcome Finance claims are being handled and paid out by Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) due to WFS being insolvent. Which is why you have not heard, however they could of at least directed you to the FSCS.

            Hi and welcome.

            Welcome Finance are in default and reclaims are being made by the Financial compensation scheme (FSCS).

            Below are further details, but what you do is contact them, they will arrange to send you a standard claim form, and you complete (keep a copy) and send copies of any relevant information, for example, application form, agreement etc.....

            As they are already in default, then it should hopefully not take that long.

            I take it the questionnaire you sent the business is the usual reclaim questionnaire issued by the Financial ombudsman service (FOS)?
            Do not worry if you have.

            Just contact the number on the link below to the FSCS, explain you have a complaint in regards of PPI via Welcome Finance, they will take your details (they may have since put a claim form on the website since I made claims through them, but ring them is the best to be sure).

                      Rang FSCS but even tho the loan is in joint names, the insurance is in my husbands name so they wont speak to me until they receive written authorisation from hubby that they can speak to me! They did say they had received a form but that was all they would tell me Will let you know when i finally get to speak to them, Thanks

                        Thank you for your update.

                        And I can recall having the same problem when i made a reclaim from the FSCS, as hubby was the first named on the joint application it was him they would only speak to.

                          Just an update.

                          We've been notified that we're getting a refund but they're deducting it (around £3K) from what we owe.

                          We're not behind with payments so are they allowed to do this? I'm 9 months pregnant so the money would come in very useful. Even if we could just have the interest paid to us it would be a big help.

                            Well done on your success.

                            Apparentely is seems that they can do this if there is an active account, even if there are no arrears, but it may vary from one business to the other.
                            However, you could give it a try and ask if they will be willing to refund you direct, as you plan on using it towards maybe arrears owed elsewhere for example.

                            Did they mention though about you receiving the interest side of it?
