    Confusing this...
My wife took out an Argos account many moons ago..which changed names over the years and eventually ended up as Very, i have already posted on that account.

This is another Argos account which was opened in 2001.
The debt outstanding has been assigned to Lowell as of November 2011.

Not responded to the numerous phone calls and letters received over the past couple of months from Lowell...and still await the SAR from Argos.

Would someone have a quick peek at the CCA and confirm that its all in order.
    Cheers

    Steve

    Re: Argos CCA

Argos never became Very mate - impossible.

Very is Littlewoods, LX Direct etc - ie brands of Shop Direct Group (SDG). Argos is owned by the same firm as Homebase, known as Home Retail Group (HRG)...

    Totally different firms.

The CCA above is simply an application and is not enforceable, no,

Lowells specialise in buying what are known as lemons when it comes to alleged credit debts. You could hit them with our CCA request template or just sit and see what they throw at you next.

Hello Niddy, thanks for the quick reply..
            Confusing this one..
The very account believe me developed over the years as a result of change.
It was originally Argos, which then changed to Argos Additions,Then to Additions, and finally it changed yo Very.co.uk.
It was all to do with the change in items they sold.....Argos additions moved away from just household goods, it branched out to selling clothes if i can remember rightly...
Its all a blur to be honest....

The form above i was told recently acted as both an application form and the official agreement.....
I don't doubt you at all mate.....but in you opinion that is not enforceable...???

            Thanks once again Niddy...

Absoutly no chance this is enforceable.

The old story of "it doubles ans an app and agreement" is well used. I have even been told that "it says "This is a credit agreement on it" - but just to be pedantic - ANYONE could write "This is a Credit Agreement" on a supermarket receipt - but it doesnt make it one!

Apologies, yes you are indeed correct there....

In January 2004, Argos Additions was bought by Shop Direct Group - the biggest mail order company in the UK. Our name has changed from Argos Additions to additions direct to reflect more accurately what shopping with Additions Direct is all about, great choice at unbelievably low prices direct to you. In 2010, Additions Direct amalgameted into Very Catalogue.
                    Still, it is 100% unenforceable

                          Hi Scorpio,
Yes it has been used, last purchase back in around 2007.
Token payments had been made up until November last year.
Not received any statements for about 3 years, maybe slightly less.
No communication from them what so ever in fact.
                          Thanks for the reply,

Well STB, its UE so if you are of a mind they can go and whistle. You will probably start to get some grief in a while now the payments have stopped, (the poor little darlings have to recover from their Christmas bashes) but you just stick your ground and bat them away. All of the templates you will need are here on the site and you will be guided through them as and when.

                            regards
