I need some advise please.

S.R.J Debt - working on behalf of Pipex (Bulldog) - have been chasing a 4 yr old 'bill' since the beginning of the yr. In July I requested a CCA - they acknowledged the request & put my A/c on 'hold'. I heard nothing til last week when I received a further Pipex Bill & subsequently a 'Pending Ligation Proceeding' from S.R.J.

What's my next step please? Do I ask for another CCA or send another letter saying: 'To date you have failed to comply with my statutory request and have defaulted in respect of this account'.

Pipex is a BB service provider - CCA1974 exempt - you cannot request a CCA nor do you have consumer credit act protection.....

You should try and hide for another 2yrs til it becomes statute barred or else arrange repayment plan with them.... How much is the debt? And as to their threat of litigation, i'll advise what to do when you confirm the actual details about the debt - ie amount, what was the service for, when did you last pay, why was it not cancelled, how come there is a debt on a monthly service (shouldn't their terms say they will disconnect after 30 days?)....

The debt amounts to £120 - it's a balanced carried forward from my previous BB provider Bulldog whom Pipex took over some time ago. The problem isn't so much the debt as I can pay, however: a) I'm convinced I don't owe the sum as I cancelled my contract before moving to Virgin & b)I first received notification at the beginning of the yr for a bill dated 01/01/2007 & now I've little idea how to prove I've paid my dues.

I last paid £37.27 on 29/12/2006 & the 'January bill' is for £120 which was due on or after 1/2/07.

Ok, well unfortunately you cannot utilise the CCA1974 as this contract is exempt. Therefore you need to basically tell the DCA to prove you owe the debt, using the following as guidance :---> viewtopic.php?p=177#p177

Forget the CCA route, if they write back about this ignore it.
