  • Default drop off bang on six years?

Do defaults drop off your file six years plus one day or when they hit six years as mine is still on.

I want to kiss it good bye then say sorry it just never worked out between us

Re: Deaful drop off bang on six years?

It lasts for 6 years and anything up to a month, give it time....

Can dometimes occur on the 6th anniversary; others it takes an extra couple of weeks. Just be patient!!

Re: Deaful drop off bang on six years?

Just want the thing to go as i hate the little buggers more than the tax man.

Next year ill have one default plus five credit agreements all showing up to date so hopefully that will allow me to obtain credit again.

Would the default still stop me even though i have agreements come to an end and new ones started and over three years of green zeros with no missed payments?

      Thanks for your help

You'll be fine even now, with that default - after 3 years most lenders don't take much notice, stop worrying about it. As you say, you already have other live accounts which reports positive data - you'll be fine.

I rang Equifax to enquire about the default and they said when it hits six years it starts a count down timer of eleven days.

Once it reaches zero it auto deletes then its dreaming of the rest to drop off, personally id rather dream of defaults than Jeannie.

I also told Equifax they should start selling fertiliser because they could supply England with the amount they come out with

Utter bollocks! It happens at the weekely update so whatever day of the week you usually get alerts sending, mine is Thursday so on Thursdays I know every change from the last weds-weds.

It does not work on any 11 day timer - and that is coming from someone that has worked on their bloody computer systems! I hate it when they make things up cos they do not know the answer!!!

umm, imagine if there was a way via a computer glitch or a "fat finger" to wipe off all your defaults

Imagine, but unfortunately not. Iron Mountain come daily and take a tape-backup from the servers so that plan is scuppered.... I do know of one thing that would work though....

Re: Default drop off bang on six years?

Well i did talk to an American lady at the time.

I asked her about my linked address that i have not lived at for 16 years and she said its due to a creditor you owed money to and not telling them you moved.

So its up to you to ring them to get it moved but talking to a creditor to remove a linked address?

I have more chance of getting my money back from the tax man.

Just get fed up with lies they tell me and not wanting to work for a living.

                  Thanks for the replies .

I wonder how many people have thought of employing a hacker to remove defaults?

Its the thought that counts they say

I've no doubt that many have considered it - or a least wished for it! It would be no simple task, though.

At the very least, they would need to delete it from the live data of each CRA and also from the company (or companies) that registered the default(s) with them in the first place.

Well its not impossible and would take a bit of work but can be done.

Would also make someone really rich if they were able to achieve this?

There is enough demand and if only the Russians would get into this line of work they could earn a honest living
