  • Payday Pig v Payday Gap - Legal or Not?

    Do not apply for or use any of the links shown here for anything other than to check out this thread - these crooks are NOT lenders but brokers. We are not advertising these sites, quite the opposite - we'd prefer them to disappear as the scum they are.

    -------------------------------------------------------------

    I got a spam email earlier from paydaypig. Me being me thought ok, lets check em out so I found the following (bear in mind these guys are brokers not lenders!):

    Main site ---> Payday Pig

    Sister site ---> PaydayGap

    Third site ---> Payday Parrot

    Fourth site ---> Fantastic Finance

    Fifth site ---> My Lunchtime Loan

    However notice at the base of the sites, each has a CCL number as being #637235 yet to have a CCL you must name each firm you intend to trade under, so I checked the CCL Register and found this:

    Surely this isn't right? How many more companies is this firm trading under without the OFT's knowledge?

    They also share the same DPA number, surely each firm has it's own server or storage facility thus should have their own DPA number (not sure about this...) #Z2282935

    * Niddy is looking for paypay bug and payday slug but can't find them. Maybe they don't name their companies after themselves so instead I'll start to search for payday c*nts and see what that brings up!

                    And what's worse, if you owe one PDL money but have say ..changed banks or card numbers and apply to what you think is another PDL all of a sudden wham all your money has gone. Never happened to me but according to an impish friend of mine....

                      Re: Payday Pig v Payday Gap - Legal or Not?

                      Just wanted to clarify the legal situation with Consumer Credit Licenses and registered Trading Styles. A company must have both and approved CCL from the OFT and also any names they trade under (Trading Styles) must also be approved by the OFT.

                      Looking at the company in question Payday Gap Ltd. (which has since changed its name to Stop Go Networks Ltd.) with CCL 637235 it currently has the following trading styles listed on the OFT site oft.gov.uk/OFTwork/credit-licensing :

                      Cash Cat, Cash Cow Now, Cash Gap, Cash In A Dash,
                      Cheetah Payday, Chop Chop Cash, Doggy Dosh, Elvis Payday
                      Fantastic Finance, Finance'R'Us, Firefly Finance, Kill Bills
                      Knockout Payday, Llama Loans, Loan Cheetah, Loan Spider, Mke Hay Till Payday
                      My Big Fat Payday, My Lunchtime Loan, Pay Kwik, Payday Cat
                      Payday Gap, Payday Paddy, Payday Palace, Payday Parrot, Payday Pig
                      Payday Pinata, Payday Polar Bear, Payday Pup
                      Payday Purse, Pukka Payday, Rapid Readies, Robot Loans
                      Rudolph'S Readies, Spend Friend, Stretch Payday, The Dosh Pit

                      They obviously have a think tank generating all these names. Not sure how many of these are live payday sites however.

                      It's a bit like insurance sites. Sheila's Wheels and Swiftcover (amongst others) are operated by AXA Insurance. Perfectly legal, just using brands as a way of differentiating from the competition.

                      And on another point, the company is a loan broker and not a lender. The loan (and debt) is held against the lender.
