    Hi Niddy,

    Here’s an interesting wee article for you amusement.

    Credit today online Scotland speaker Chris Graham nolans

    Scottish ministers line up for conference - 13/01/2010

    The Scottish ministers for housing and community safety are to speak at Credit Today’s Credit Scotland conference in March.

    Alex Neil, minister for housing and Fergus Ewing, minister for community safety, will be making keynote presentations at the event in Edinburgh on Thursday 4 March. Launched last year, Credit Scotland was attended by over 100 people and is expected to grow further in 2010.

    The ministers will discuss the impact of the Home Owner and Debtor Protection Bill and Scotland’s changing consumer credit regime. It follows rapid planning and implementation of measures to help Scottish debtors with the effects of the credit crunch. However, creditor groups have expressed concern that the measures are too ‘debtor-friendly’ and could result in lender reluctance to do business north of the border.

    The event is a rare chance to hear views from both ministers, who will also take questions from the floor.

    The line up for the conference also includes the new Accountant in Bankruptcy (AIB) Rosemary Winter-Scott, who will be debating the challenges of Scotland's debt mountain. In addition experts from the industry will cover the impact of court delays on the debt recovery process and look at profiling debtors ahead of rising interest rates. Other speakers include:

    * Jo Mayes, head of credit strategy, Scottish Power
    * Claire Burke, revenue and benefits manager, Glasgow City Council

    * Chris Graham, partner, Nolans Solicitors

    This year the conference will be followed by a dinner for delegates, exhibitors and speakers. For more information visit http://www.credittoday.co.uk/creditscotland and to book tickets call 0844 477 4740.

    Mr Graham is not on next years speakers list. Credit Scotland 2011 Hilton Glasgow, 2 March 2011

    [size=5]I think its my duty to update the Scottish Minister’s, regarding Nolan Macleod Solicitors recent unethical antics taking into account Mr Chris Graham is a Partner :-c

    Think it should be the naughty step for Nolans (hopefully the step will be in a prison cell) [-X ;nid1a

        Gerry - this would be unreal if you actually went along and said your piece. No doubt everyone will be thinking differently about Nolans and their partners when they hear how they treat people.
        I hereby promise to treat Debt Collection Agencies with the same values that they treat me. UTTER CONTEMPT !!

          With thanks to Gerry for the following info

          Extract of Nolans DCA Practices - shocking or just bad business management? Why don't you decide......

          SCOTTISH DEBT COLLECTION
          'Your Road to Recovery Begins Here.'

          Dont let your profits suffer from your Scottish debts. We can show you how to make the Scottish system work for you. Can you be sure to recover Scottish Debts within days?

          WE CAN !!

          1. Secure your debt and force payment within days.
          2. Show you how to do so using these simple steps.

          With the right information.
          DAY ONE

          1. You supply us with the details we require to raise a court action by letter,phone,fax or e-mail.
          2. We raise the court action
          3. We arrest (freeze) any monies in your debtor's bank account or owed to him by any third party.
          4. We take out Letters of Inhibition which prevent your debtor selling any heritable property.

          A summons is then issued to the following effect:

          IN THE CASE OF N M CLIENT AGAINST DEBTOR THE CLIENT MOVES FOR JUDGEMENT AGAINST THE DEBTOR FOR THE PAYMENT OF ?10,000 AND TO ALLOW THE CLIENT TO ARREST THE DEBTOR?S BANK ACCOUNT AND TO PREVENT THE DEBTOR SELLING HERITAGE UNTIL NM CLIENT HAS BEEN PAID.

          Funds are frozen in the hands of the persons owing money to your debtor and your debtors are then advised by fax. The action is then served upon the debtor.
          DAY TWO

          On day two the debtor discovers his assets are frozen

          His payments from creditors have stopped thus:

          1. He cannot purchase goods.
          2. He cannot pay wages.
          3. He needs to settle his account with you today!
          4. He needs to visit his bank!!

          THE DEBTOR SETTLES WITH YOU BY WAY OF CASH OR CERTIFIED CHEQUE.
          DAY THREE

          On day three the credit controller banks the cheque and tries to hide her joy

          THEN AND ONLY THEN DO YOU AGREE TO UNFREEZE THE DEBTOR?S FUNDS
          WARNING

          This scenario is quite possible if:

          * The debtor's bank account or the names of those owing him monies are known.
          * Your debtor has assests.
          * The action is un-defended.
          (However the debtor's assets remain frozen up to and past judgement).

          SIMILAR RECOVERY TIME SCALES CAN APPLY TO LIQUIDATIONS
          FINALLY!!

          DONT MISS THE DEBT TRAIN NORTH

          * We are your ticket to success in Scotland
          * Climb aboard here !
          * e mail your requests from our home page.
