Been away for a while (have popped in every so often) after this place made me virtually debt free in 12 months, but now I'm back.
Background. I no longer bank with the high street banks, my Current Account is with a Credit Union (technically underwritten by Co-op bank but i don't deal with them) and as such, i pay 0.75 a week an never pay for overdraft charges nor bounced DD's.
I use my C&P card all the time, and have never had an issue with it, until 1and1.
I bought several domain names back in August, set up the payment through my Visa debit card and left it at that, got a couple of e-mails stating they couldn't take the money and I should check my details, I duly did so and details are correct. (i should point out, Paypal, Capital One and various high street stores had been paid through this account with no issue, and there is plenty of money in the account).
Again, another month went one, an e-mail, unable to take the money, checked again, nothing wrong, all details tally up.
Then I get a letter from Aadvark (Arvato) collections, demanding payment + late payment charge.
I've contacted 1and1 several times and get a generic reply "we are unable to deal with this as it has been past to AFS and payment must be made there."
Now i have no issue paying the charges for the domains, i have them and would like to keep them beyond the end of the year, therefore i cannot just tell them to sod off, as much as I would like to, but I don't see why i should pay a late payment fee when my details are correct and have been since day 1.
So 1and1 are stonewalling any contact with them, what to do?
