  • Things looking up???

Think my credit file is on the mend at last? I have owned a Vanquis Card for about 2 years now. Having read this:

    http://forums.all-about-debt.co.uk/s...930#post334930

I decided to apply for a Capital One and Creation credit card. I got an instant decision from Creation for their balance transfer card with 24.9% APR and £1000 limit. I am awaiting a decision from Capital One?!

Hopefully will be able to get car credit soon as we're desperate for a new family motor!!!

Cap1 will say yes. Missy & Dave both recently did so

    Well done

Capital one is both mate. You may get a classic/credit builder card - both kind of subprime or they may give you a regular card with a higher limit and reasonable apr. wait and see. Call & ask how your application is progressing....

So-So. You get good deals and BT's/APR's/0%'s so not subprime, but again they don't offer everyone the same apr or card. Some cards are 20+ % apr and others are the norm, 12-18%.

creation is the step before you ask your own bank. If you pass creation then most the time your own bank will accept you. Creation do a full scoring profile which is set slightly below a mainstream banks basic pass score rate. No two lenders use the same scoring methods.

Nice one Lloyd, as you say; things are looking up mate! Whats the plan then give it six months and personal loan for a new motor?

                  Cheers

Gutted. Do you have 3 years clear? Did the person applying for finance tell you why it was declined?

I'm not quite sure if I'm 3 years clear? The application was not instantly declined but was referred, then declined. Luckily there was a rep. from RCI Finance at the dealership today and he called to see why it was declined. He couldn't tell me why directly but when I suggested past defaults he nodded! Applying again in the wife's name tomorrow - fingers crossed!?!?!?!?

No joy with the wife's application either, referred then declined

3 years of being good? Does this mean no defaults, missed payments etc?

I have just been sent an application form from Cap one for their pre approved cards, funny thing is we have 4 old accounts with them that have gone down the UE route, was wondering weather to apply and see what happens?
