  • Halifax default

Halifax CEO sent me a letter saying he was sorry i had trouble with my currant account and that i experienced financial difficulty and had trouble getting credit because of the default.

He has taken £350 from the balance owing and trust's this will help me out?

Balance owing £1100 taken off £350 balance £750 so no it won't help me out.

I'm after balance zero but I'm grinding them down slowly.

I have email and can annoy the shit out of them so i don't care.

Next is financial ombudsman and See what he says?

Anyways i will keep you posted

    Re: Halifax default

My overdraft debt was sold to 1st credit but after informing them I had a letter from the Halifax stating they would not be chasing me for the money they passed it back to the Halifax.

I got message that my credit file had changed and when I checked Halifax had removed the nearly three year old default.

I just have to wait till next July then the Lowell one will drop off and I have a clean credit file again with three years of perfect payment history

      awesome result - well done

A 5 year old default won't affect you for mainstream credit, so i'd not worry about the "old" Low-Life one
