Not even Gordon the moron was daft/courageous enough to start those abuses of established law.

Those parts of that Act should be repealed AT ONCE.

Because Cameron had been educated at Eton, it was probably very much easier for the Swivel Service to corrupt him.
You say I said the exact opposite? was it on this thread or the Wheres Cameron. Doesn't surprise me I often get things Base over Apex (could be more descriptive )

There has been some good points made here and on the Cameron thread. Some of the posters have put their point more clearly and eloquently than I ever could.

Now coming from Eton Cameron would be a prime candidate for the powers behind the throne to back. A career politician, the right connections, the right family. Not much is said about his Grandfather, 2nd Baronet, ex Lt Colonel, High Sheriff of Berkshire. In any other society he would be hailed as a minor aristocrat.

Now Cameron probably thinks he is the nicest most human, charitable, honorable and straight politician he knows. Its all down to breeding.

At some point in the Old Farts Club (Etonian Branch, I know a few of them) it will have been put like this. David young Fellow me Lad, some of us chaps have been thinking if you throw your hat in the ring during the next leadership election, we would be happy to give you our backing.

We would like you to meet our friend Rupert, his papers will put in a good word for you, always helps don't you know.

He will have gone away feeling on top of the world. One of the old Duffers would have turned to the other and said lets call Rothchild and tell him things will be fine now we've found another malleable idiot to take the heat.

This post is just Handy fantasizing again, Just like no one believes Texas Oil Money got George W elected.

My old Boss when I worked in Power Generation was the sort of Guy that after you shook his hand, you would check you were still wearing you watch. He honestly believed he was the most honest person who ever drew breath, Others said of him he couldn't even lie straight in bed at night. TRUE.

Anyway that's the rant over for tonight.
If I get chance later more mundane stuff like life at the Hall.

    Regards, Handy

      Why?

A right-handed person normally wears his/her watch on their left wrist. Don't you mean that, after shaking hands with that crook, one's immediate instinct was to count one's fingers?

And the rest. I worked for him for a number of years before I really knew how Tricky he was. The main reason for hanging around for so long was just wanting to see what would happen next

He wasn't known around Nottingham as Tricky Trev for nothing.

No probs about the soapbox. I am sure many of us feel the same way. I was reading an article in Mrs G's comic (The Daily Express) the other day saying that the citizens of Britain had become the most regulated and oppressed people in the Western style democracies. I seem to remember that Conman Cameron promised to do away with all of this during his election campaign. As usual NOTHING has been done.

It's easy to believe. The only thing George Orwell got wrong was the date.

We were once out in the Peak district marshaling a Sponsored walk.

My mob had some terrific radio gear including a 50 foot hydraulic mast. The youngsters used to love putting the hard hats on and putting the thing up, guy ropes, sledge hammers and all.

We were at the bottom of Stannage Edge having paid a fortune to park our MOD vehicles. A Park Ranger came along and told us to dismantle the mast as we had not asked permission or paid the fee for insurance purposes to erect it.

The walk was in aid of a Cancer Charity and we were covering our costs from our own funds.

As it happened we did two rescues on that day, Lost walkers and an Injured Climber. No thanks to the Quango's

Do you mean that you just left the Park Ranger there?

Well it's busy at the Hall at the moment, the contractors are going flat out to get the Harvest in before it rains again.

In the Field around us there are so many lights tonight it looks like a remake of close encounters. There must be 10 or more Tractors out working. They will probably be at it into the wee small hours. Ear Plugs anyone.

And Handy is going flat out because Lady Hooray is having a Pish up Garden Party on Friday.

So you might not here too much from me for the next couple of days Thought that might make a few of you happy.

Whats happening around here, it seems very quiet on the chat threads at the moment. Pompey got me some new aftershave cos I thought folks wern't talking to me anymore. I thought Hi Karate might do the job in making me more attractive, but even my Dogs don't want to come near me.

              Thats it for now.
              Regards to all, Handy

                Lovely pics, Handy.

I've seen loads of bees around this year and have had two nests in the garden wall. The first type I think were mortar bees, as they were small and not very vibrantly coloured. The second lot all had white bums, and varied in size from large to bloody massive! Not sure what type they were.............dog said they all tasted the same to him.

I think both of our nests have gone now but I'm still seeing squillions of bees on the local lavendar.

Enjoy your garden party and hurry back; the place won't be the same without you!

Might they have been not bees, but hum bugs?

Oooh loo, your bee has a white bum too, so perhaps it's one of mine!!!

Watching dog eat bees is hilarious. He has it down to a fine art; a combination of pawing, licking and flicking till it gives up and he doesn't seem to get stung anymore. The things that "poor hungry" labs will do for food!

CC, if they were humbugs, I'd have wanted a share!

O yeah he does have a white bum - gosh he flew a long way as that was taken at a place near richmond park!!!

ah you are so wicked Diddles are you not feeding that dog - I thought he looked skinny thank god he has the bees.

I try to keep doglee away from bees - remember once she must have got stung by a wasp as we were sitting there and suddenly her poor little nose was covered in bumps!! silly thing - but she seemed ok and no harm done

A very nice camera! I'd like one, but I'm loathe to sell my film cameras, such as this (not actually my camera, but I have one like it)

And, yes, it is heavy - the camera alone weighs over 7 pounds (3.175kg) and then there are the tripod and the film holders or roll-film backs...
