Are you sure you closed one and re-opened another or did they issue a replacement card and number when they changed things in Oct 2009 (they stopped taking applications then)...?

Mint is part of RBS and the card was aimed to replace the RBS Advanta card (cira 2003 time). Does that help with anything, ie memory wise..?

    Failing that, maybe SAR them

      Hi Niddy.

My first card was taken out 2004 (have the CCA).
      £0.00 balance April 2007.
It does then say about issuing a BRAND NEW (design) card with no date on it!

27 nov 2008 letter from Mint saying thank you for your application for a Mint card....

I have everything here in the file but I cant see that it was a replacement... I will go through the whole file tonight but, as I said I seemed to have closed one and then applied again in 2008!

Hmmm, the card was unique in that they were the first company to ever issue a non standard card (in the uk) - the MC2 card did cause quite a stir, I was sure that came out in 2003 with the whole portfolio so cannot see why they'd issue a new card, unless like you say you closed and re-opened a new account.

What was the old card limit and the new card limit, is it the same...?

In 2008 they did bring out a new 0% offer, to new applicants only, but existing customers could close their old account and get a new one if they wanted, maybe this is what you did...?

        I really don't know.

          £12k 1st one
          £11.7k 2nd one!

I only opened an account with them in 2004. But, it does look like I have done transfer balances to the first card and then cleared it and then re-opened to transfer further balances on it. I used to swap things around to 0% offer!

When I was the victim of a credit card fraud (card details cloned) the bank cancelled my old card and then sent me a new one with a completely new number. At the same time they closed the old account and opened a new one because they said that was the only way it could be done No new paperwork signed or sent Did you have your card lost or stolen?

              Hi PlanB

I wish I did! I have a new CCA for 2008, although it is a recon... Dont think I can get out of this.... It is strange that that happened. I had £0.00 in 2007 and then a new card and limit online 2008.

seems you closed and settled to re-open then. The limits confirm that, as they are so similar - Mint had a maximum limit of £7.5k during 2007 until closure to new customers so the way around that was new business from old customers.

Oh well, not the best result but you could still blag this for now. Mint are not that aggressive....

MBNA #1 - Niddy "This is weird I don't see how they can send two versions of CCA's and more so why I missed this and said one was UE and one was EN. Yea they can remedy a s.78 but they cannot falsify a document if they have previously stated that X is the actual original. It then puts into doubt their claim that agreement Y was actually correct, based on their previously stating agreement X was an original (if any of that makes sense)... hence I would like to see both copies again please with a brief explanation as to why you got two versions etc - please email me one email with the first agreement and terms etc plus the cover letter and the same in another email for the second version. I'll clarify this later once I see documents again, I think this would be UE regardless so want to check - thanks".

                  - Emailed Niddy my CCA. Seems its a recon and BUT, I am going to try and get away with UE.

                  - Letter off ARDEN received dated 30 July 2012 - We have provided you with copies of CCA. Our position remains outlined in our letter. You are free to take whatever action you deem appropriate, but we will not be releasing you from any obligation. Contact Arden to arrange payments.

Do not really know what to do/send back with this one?

Sorry I moved this one forward to do next as I thought we had finished with Mint... My fault.. Sorry!

I was paying them £1pm for a while and they where okay with it. They used to write and ask if my circumstances had changed every 6 months or so.. I will try and do a deal on this one.

Do you know if you can knock down the amount to re-pay? Or it would take years! I would be retired by then! ;-)

In the beginning they wouldn't send the CCA due to no signature on my letter's (x3)and I was sending letters to the solicitors as they had been sending threatening letters of litigation! A/C in dispute, etc until the CCA eventually came back as EN.

I have updated everything in my diary and asked about all my accounts.

Okay, thank you I will try UE before anything and see if they get Shoosmiths Solicitors back on my case.
