I think I would be ignoring marling.

As you say, you have proof of the original CCA request, and you are under no obligation to discuss (phone or letter) the matter with them - you have told them there is a dispute and that is sufficient.

I am having similar issues with Westcot / Natwest.

Natwest have told me they will no longer enter into communications, Westcot keep telling me I need to write to Natwest for a copy of my CCA (what they provided before was bullshit). I am also having Nelsons write to me, who I am also ignoring.
I'm an official AAD Moderator and also a volunteer, here to help make the forum run smoothly. Any views or opinions are mine and not the official line of AAD. Similarly, any advice I have offered you is done so on an informal basis, without prejudice or liability. If in doubt seek advice from a qualified insured professional - Find a Solicitor or go to the National Probono Centre.

AIC of their own accord cannot issue proceedings. They are only DCAs not practising solicitors and cannot act under "instruction" and hence as collection agents only of the OC they have no cause of action to issue proceedings. They can only act in CONJUNCTION with the OC and their legal representatives.

Did they have to get permission to think, or does that require the services of a specialist?

If you have any Notice of Assignment in Absolute from either party to the sale then you may demand that the current owner honour their obligations under the Act which are all of the responsibilites and liabilities under the agreement which they are alleging exists. I normally now send a rather sharply worded modification of the template letter to any new debt purchaser, just to let them know that I am one of those who is NOT going to just roll over at their behest and pay up.

Remember there is no prescribed format to a NoA and it can just be a few lines in any of the letters from either party.

                              regards
