  • MINT and NatWest post

    Hi Guys
Just a heads up, it seems that Royal Mail are not getting the required signatures for recorded deliveries to the MINT and Natwest credit card offices in Southend-on-sea SS1 9AJ.
I have now sent 4 letters and another member has sent two and according to the track and trace they are still awaiting delivery. Funny how MINT have been able to reply to both of us though and returned our P.O's.
    So just be aware.
If anyone has another address for them I would be grateful

    Re: MINT and NatWest post

PO numbers are very often not signed for. Normally a batch is delivered and only the letter at the top of that batch is actually signed for. That is the same reason that it says awaiting delivery.

Claim for non delivery (even though it was delivered) from Royal Mail. You paid to have a signature, and they have not provided it.

Thanks but as I am sure you understand that doesn't help me when I need to know if it has been delivered. Will it still be the same with special delivery....I really can not afford to keep sending letters Special

That's why, if I want a signature, I use Special Delivery.

Unfair though isn't it, you don't get what you pay for......recorded delivery.......proof of postage!!

Special is about a fiver. It is beyond belief that they can not provide the service they advertise. Thing was, some of the P.O.boxes i sent recorded to came back with the delivery and signature. It's only been the MINT/NATWEST address.

                  why?

Why do you need to know if it has been delivered? You're still missing the point of UE it appears

Ok, you send a letter - YOU post it recorded - thus YOU have proof. Who gives a flying monkeys turd if they sign, don't sign or don't get it? YOU still have the proof that you DID send them something. Regardless, a court must take into account the regulations which DO suggest you can safely assume something has been delivered after 2 days (1st class) and 4 days (2nd).

So, why do you NEED to see proof from Natwest/Mint? Please clarify and I will be able to explain in more specific detail.

                  * I'm not trying to be a DCA using BIG BOLD text - I am emphasising the point to you.

Thank you. I am getting it. However I wasn't aware of that bit. I was being over cautious .
So from now on, so long as I can prove I have posted it stuff em all

                        Re: MINT and NatWest post

If it’s just proof of posting needed for correspondence I’d send it normal 1st or 2nd and obtain a free certificate of posting from the PO. For the unsigned recorded I think you have to wait 15 days to submit a claim and they usually send a book of 6 stamps as goodwill gesture.

If you pay for a service you should expect to get what you pay for regardless....

I have had the same problems as Jon, and i thank you for bringing it to the forums attention mate...
Thanks also for the very constructive advice.....

                            Re: MINT and NatWest post

its true you could just send 1st class and get proof of postage, returning items to catalogues ask just that, as you have proof you sent it regardless of whether its delivered.

The idea i believe behind recording it, is it ensures that it will be delivered within 2 days, bit of a con, but technically, it puts you in a better light "should" anything go to court, because the judge can see you took reasonable steps to make sure they got your letter.

I dunno, thats just what i think.

Thank you to everyone. Lots of slightly different advice but very useful. I can see the point of recorded signed for and now I understand it . So I will stick with signed for for any sort of important letters.
                              Thanks again all
