Had my letter this morning, increase of £1.50 per month.

I have looked at Freesat and Freeview but sadly the channels I watch are not on either of them, so unless I go with Virgin - which I won't I have to put up with it. Oh well!

            Re: Sky up from Sept

Anyone with Sky do what I did having received a letter informing me of a price increase, get on the phone and challenge it.

I got free HD for 6 mths and free second box for 12 mths plus a free sky anytime+ box.

I was paying a shade over £100 each mth and failed to see why I should pay anymore when I could get virgin 1tb box free hd second box unlimted phone calls and max internet for the same price and 50% off for 6mths.

Sky will not want to lose you to any other provider and will offer discounts to keep your business.

i pay about 25 quid a month, just entertainment plus, broadband and phone line.

Mother pays about 45 quid a month.

I do know of someone, who can give you ALL the channels, anytime+ and on demand for £200 a year.

Thats a massive saving when you break it down.

Uses his own coded boxes, with a very nice planner layout. channels are streamed via broadband router.

Prob not the most legal system, but there you go lol

Well last month I did manage to get another sky HD box and a free mutiroom out of them last month, I pay them on average about £95pm for calls , sky and broadband. Which I suppose isn't bad.

we only have the virgin freeview because we don't watch much tv, the internet phone and freeview is around £30-40 a month depending on how many phone calls we make, at the moment the bill is around £40 as both my parents are needing a lot of care right now so i phone them to make sure they are both ok.

We don't go out don't smoke or drink , but we like to go out for a drive in the evening after tea , its what we enjoy so we consider this our entertainment, we have a pool in the garden which is now just covered becuase we can't afford to heat it up, but we are hoping to heat it up next month for my birthday and my son's birthday we deserve that at least i reckon.

                      Re: Sky up from Sept

I bought myself a motorised satellite system, there are 1,000's of free channels available on loads of satellites.

Probably a bit too in-depth for a single forum post so better if I point you in this direction http://alsatforum.com/forum.php

I could watch films, live sports all f.o.c. and in English (mostly lol). You can pick up a cheap motorised system and bolt it up yourself, lots of fun to be had satellite channel surfing.

yep, it was here when we bought the house 6 years ago, its 24 feet by 15 feet wide, we have had some great BBQ's and pool parties, my baby grandson has been in it once and that was in May, we had to turn the heater off as the business was so bad, but as its picking up now again we are thinking of putting the heater back on again, it has the cheapest form of heate which is a heat pump and it only uses 20p per hour but like i said the business was so dead we had to watch the bills.
last year at easter when it was really hot we spent the day in and out of the pool and had a BBQ, this year it was bloody freezing
we're not posh by the way we just had the added bonus of this pool being here when we bought the house we would never have been able to afford it otherwise keeping it warm is the biggest challenge and if it gets an attack of algea then thats another big challenge

Think our sky is about £70 - all in, phone, BB, and TV - have full package minus HD and the little extras.

Thats starting to get a little expensive, but there is nowt else (non Virgin area - in many ways I suppose! )

If I knew of a way of getting free or cheap sky, with no problems, and it could be easily removed should need be, it would be here.
