Here's a Rant.

I am in the shit, that's life, and it's very tough, we, like many others live day by day and hand to mouth, I have holes in my shoes, when it rains my feet get wet and now it's winter.

So here's the Rant. This might be difficult to comprehend but, My brother is a millionaire, my father in law is a multi millionaire, my Mother in law (Divorced) is a millionairess all of my relatives are wealthy, my children have holes in their clothes.

They choose to be blind to our plight.

I know that they owe me/us nothing but when your family are going hungry, the mind boggles.

dad always said its a shame you can choose friends but not family

nearly 6rys ago I was exactly the same I have a few well off members of family who knew about my situation eventually I decided to go bankrupt...what happens then?...family come forward to say "ohh we could have helped if we knew"

Our debts are loose change to my F I Law. He gives the kids a tenner for their birthdays and tips a waitress twenty at lunch.

His recent blunder....'Oh hi, I have just bought a new Yatch and it's six feet bigger than the other, which is only 56 feet, good price too 750k'.

Whilst this is going on I am thinking, "what a twat".

When asked for help, his reply and I quote 'Why would I do that, I can't see the benefit to me?'

As soon as I can afford it I am going to take up dancing lessons, one day there will be a 6 x 3 plot to practice on.

You're not alone...

My family seemed to take a perverse kind of pleasure in seeing me struggle for years. I was the charity case but without the charity, if you know what I mean. It can make you harsh and bitter if you're not careful....

I'm not going to patronise you and say that life will get better but it does help to try and change your mindset a little because success and happiness are not always measured in financial ways. Some of the most miserable people are also very comfortable financially. I have friends in icy cold and sometimes cruel marriages for example, because they're afraid to go it alone with fewer luxuries.

My daughter had very little when she was young but as a young woman of 22 now, she doesn't feel that she's missed out on anything. We had no holidays, Christmas was a series of trips to 2nd hand shops to try and get decent-looking presents, clothes were stitched up and so on.... but, she had stability, as much security as I could give her, enough love to move mountains, encouragement, support and belief and now she's forging a life of her own.

My friends were my family. I had some very good ones and still do.....

Sometimes it's good to have a rant on here. I had one the other day about my job and it helps...

Thank you, Yes I know what you mean about perverse pleasure I get that feeling all the time. And the FIL is a real women hater. last time he was rude to my wife I threatened to remove us all from any contact whatsoever and ring his neck into the bargain. I hate people who can't treat others with respect regardless of background or circumstance. The rich think that everyone else is a peasant, all for the sake of some coloured paper. Idiots!

What a bunch of shits! I just know that will happen to me, the last blast of satisfaction on their faces and they will try to justify their being complete sods by pretending that they didn't know. Hell they will even turn it into something that people should feel sorry for them in the process.

When I was first diagnosed with cancer, I was in agony and in Hell, the whole process of seeing a specialist was taking forever. The NHS can be slow.

When an old mate of mine contacted me it came up in conversation, I hadn't seen this guy in 10 years. He said I should go private and I explained that there was no way I could afford it. A couple of days later he had arranged, even though he lives on the other side of the world, a private appointment, paid for by him. I was in Hospital within a few days having scans.

As I happens I know his parents really well, He made me promise never to tell them or any of our mutual friends.

There are some good and kind people out there.

When you are on the bones of your arse then you find out about real humanity.

Alot of what we buy into is just fluff.

The western world has lost something in its day to day pursuit of the lucre.

However there is plenty of decency out there. However you tend to find it isnt with the rich. This society is built to enable them to keep the rest of us down.

When my dad ws alive he scrounged nd scraped every penny he could, never mind who got walked over in the process.We have always worked to care for our own without help and in the bad times (as my oh has always been self employed)dad never offerd anything and i never asked although i am sure he knew.When he died and i had my share of the house proceeds ,guess what we were swindled out of it! so i guess it was never meant to be.So JOJO i do understand how bitter family can make you feel RANT ON MATE xxxx

The benifit is for someone else, and it gives you a good feeling in yourself.

In the years Iv'e been on debt forums I've come across a few people that used to be millionaires,
Some have changed the way they act and treat people

Hi jojo, I know exactly where you are coming from, I work for a very rich family. They all go on about how tight things are at the moment. But they wouldn't give you the steam off their piss.

Yet you don't see them go without Holiday's or 4 cases of wine a month, just to drink at lunch.

Yet recently when I suggested that my first raise in 3 years is becoming imperative, so that I can afford to pay my bills. I get the lecture on one must economise.

So yesterday I saw £600 spent on a set of winter tyres for the second car that will never ever get used, and at the moment we are putting the finishing touches to a 4.5K revamp of a guest bathroom that will only get used a few times a year.

That's the sort of economising I wish we all could do.

So Regards mate, I know how you feel.

Those of us who have the least always give the most.
