    Cabot buys up Spanish DCA (Gesif)

    Cabot Financial Debt Recoveries Services, a division of Cabot Credit Management Group, has acquired 100 percent of Spanish debt collection agency (DCA) Gesif. With headquarters in Madrid and Barcelona, Gesif has more than 20 years of experience in collections management, servicing consumers and SME loan portfolios from multiple sectors. The business has 10 sites across Spain in total and its clients range from Spanish banks to global investors. Melania Sebastián Marino, director general at Gesif, said: “We are very proud to join the Cabot family which will enable us to grow and gain a leadership position in the Spanish servicing market.” Ken Stannard, chief executive of Cabot Group, said: “Gesif gives us a foothold and growth platform in a strategically important geography, with similar focus and high standards in regulatory compliance, and it will allow us to leverage our operating platform for further long-term growth in Spain....
