Got response from Cabot this morning, they were unaware of any requests or disputes that we had previously raised with the original lender and that contact was made in good faith They have contacted Clydesdale and hope to be back in contact in the next 12 days. But they would still request we contact them to discuss repayment options
So will wait for the next letter from them. I do like the last para on the letter tho.
'I note your comments regarding a visit to your home. We shall attempt to avoid a doorstep collector being instructed, however if you do not co-operate in resolving your outstanding account, we reserve the right to escalate your account as we deem necessary and this may result in the instruction of a doorstep agent. I trust I have set out our position clearly.'





Having heard nothing for over the last 2 years Cabot have sent us a very nice letter. Explaining that the debt has now been sold to them and that as we have previously sent payment for our account direct to Debt Managers - NOPE got that bit wrong.
