  • Payday Loan Issues quiet on forums

    Hi All

I've noticed the last 4-5 months that there are (relatively) few PDL problems on the forum (and others who I try to redirect here). Perhaps it could be that the FCA are getting something right and the close inspection of the PDL industry is causing the big lenders to 'behave'.

I still get the occasional Motormile sufferer coming my way, but other than that its quiet. My money will be that soon the PDL industry will be using the usual DCA suspects more to chase delinquent accounts and that we'll see problems pick up again in 8-12 months time.

    SnV

I'm tweaking with google for a site I'm working on. When I've mastered it I'll try and implement it here cos we've tried self rankings for 5yrs now but I was shocked to see a forum above us ref; UE when they classify it as debt avoidance and don't have much of a clue barring 1 expert.

That prompted me to start monitoring things and adding analytics which we've avoided to date. So hopefully in a few weeks we'll be more recognised with the main search engines.

I am extremely busy so if you do contact me or need a reply to a forum post then use the email or PM features offered because I do miss things and get tied up for days at a time!

I have just entered unenforceable debt into google and this site is not even on the first page.

It seems that generally simple searches do not show up this site

Indeed Pat but my old thread at MSE is top so click that then google never-in-doubt and you'll find us

However it will rank better shortly. We're working on this to help others find us. It's not something we've bothered with before and we do get 1m hits a year.

we might let robots index our (post / thread) tags. That'll boost things but I'm still unsure. I'm funny like that

You must be psychic SnV. Today the FCA announced that as a direct result of their investigation into WONGA the company will have to pay £2.6 million in compensation to customers who they chased using non-existent DCAs and law firms:

Ok we're now added to all the main search engines and have full sitemaps installed (cross site - ie all our sites) so lets hope that doesn't invite the spammers to test our automated banning system cos they'll get sad

We're currently being scanned by the bing/google robots and within the next week or so you'll notice the difference within google search. I hate xml (sitemap render) at the best of times lol

Will those robots also index our repossession and eviction tags (posts/threads)?

Re: Payday Loan Issues quiet on forums

The robots can only view public sections; so no - if the section is private then it cannot be indexed by any search engine - which is spot on correct

That's good news because all AAD's repossession and eviction threads are on the open forum.

So I will welcome the Google robots and spiders

Thanks Matey - we'll see if that routes any people who need help. I did mean also that PDL issues do seem to have reduced though everywhere recently, hopefully they are getting a spanking

Yeah about time too - I was on the receiving end of one of those emails, and also one of their 'we have close links to the metropolitan police' pieces of work. I reported them to the OFT at the time, so hopefully was one of the complaints that contributed.

Added this PDL section as a separate entity as well to pull through some hits...... It should take a day or two to get going.
