They were launched by the Halifax which got gobbled up by the Bank of Scotland (HBOS) and then became a division of Lloyds. Something like that. They are not currently issuing new mortgages but that situation may only be temporary.
Really!!?? Would be more than happy to stay with them if they have competitive products to offer as I said I have never had any problems with them....but I guess they have never had any problems with me so that helps!

It certainly does. That's got to be better than going into uncharted territory with a new lender. But we'll cross that bridge when you get to it. No rush yet is there?

FYI - This is what they have said..

Q Why are we making these changes?
New mortgage rules will be coming into effect across the UK mortgage market in April 2014 which will change the way some of our mortgage processes operate. We will be making changes to some of our Intelligent Finance mortgage processes in order to comply with the new rules, however, unfortunately we are unable to extend these changes to our further advance and change mortgage deal processes. Consequently, these services are being withdrawn in advance of the new rules taking effect.

No rush if we aren't expecting an increase for a while! This is good news, thanks for your posts

Hi, well I haven't heard back from Natwest yet but today I have come home to a letter from a different debt collection agency called r2, titled confirmation of residency....any ideas what I do with it??? It is threatening further action etc. As always, any advice gratefully received! Thanks

Hi again, do you think it would be a good idea for me to make contact with one of the regulatory services, I mean Natwest haven't responded to my SAR which was sent in May last year, they now have debt collection agencies onto me as well. The last letter I sent on 6 Feb hasn't been responded to....what do you think, does it sound to you like they have something to hide??

If you go to the ICO website they tell you how to complain. Do you have proof of delivery of your request? Did you send a follow up?

Hi and thanks for your message, I sent it recorded delivery so just need to get a copy of the signature from the post office website, I will do that tomorrow - haven't sent a chaser to this latest letter, should I do that? It worried me that I now have another debt collection agency writing to me, threatening further action - as I have now waited 9 months for the information from my SAR letter, I just think they will keep ignoring anything I send to them so not really sure what options I have or when it is appropriate to go to ICO, don't want to screw anything up, but really want to stop having this hanging over me!

Well I have the proof of delivery with signature so they had my letter at 9am on 7th Feb, so almost 2 weeks now, I guess 8 working days though, do you think it is too soon to expect a response from them?

You must chill. It's 10pm Friday night. It's not urgent.

I said in my PM earlier that it's pointless worrying. We'll deal with it in time. Await a reply to your last letter. Give em 5 years if necessary but give them time to respond to you.
