Hi all,
I am looking for advice, I have so much debts I don’t know what to do. I have been paying them for years but I could not manage more than the minimum so I could never pay them off. Some of them very old, last month I have sent for SAR to see if there are charges I can claim, and Halifax one came with nearly £3000 charges over the years but the balance 2500. The agreement was also included, by reading the instructions in this website it could be unenforceable.
I have few questions;
can I still claim my charges back even though I have stopped paying it?? Would the charges go to pay the outstanding balance?
What do I do now, do I pay token payments until I confirm the agreement?? I have now opened a new account and transferred my salary to it.
The other problem I am facing, that most creditors know my work number, although I don’t need the phone for my work, as suppliers prefer to call me in my mobile, I found it embarrassing that they will call me. I answered one call, and I could not say much as I share my office, so I hanged up, luckily we don’t share work number but how do I make sure they don’t call me at work??
The debts
• Type of account- credit card
• Date commenced- 30/1/1998
• Approx balance- 2500
• Date last paid- 1/11/2012
• Are you on arrangement or not paying- not paying
• Status- in arrears
• Account- owner HALIFAX
