    Barclaycard/Monument/Providian

    If anyone is facing court action on Monument or Providian, make sure that you obtain a SAR.
    I failed in court against Cabot/Monument and am now looking at reclaiming charges and possible PPI. I am now dealing with the ICO as no-one appears to hold any data on my account.

    According to Monument

    ‘On 1st July 2007, Barclaycard sold a percentage of the Monument Visa portfolio to CompuCredit UK. The remaining percentage of Monument VISA accounts, were retained by Barclaycard.'

    Interesting..........

    I had a CC with them approx 10 years ago the balance of which I paid off in full.

    Early 2008 I received a letter from a DCA chasing a balance of approx £400. The numpties at Monument hadn't closed my account and then the charges and interest started piling up.

    Fortunately I was able to outrightly prove this and dispute the debt and put the DCA back under their rock.

    I wonder if my account was one of those sold to CompuCredit..........

    The consumer is that sleeping giant.!!

      The whole situation seems interesting and one which could be exploited in our favour; I'm just mad that I only SARd Cabot....
