I was defaulted on a nationwide credit card (Sept 2008) and nationwide current account (Sept 2008).

Now these are satisfied defaults and due to come off Sept 2014 - and i've read that the following letters can be sent:

    http://forums.all-about-debt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=446

but - i just wanted to see if anyone had had any luck with nationwide in particular - does it make any difference that they are a building society??

After McGuffick v RBS that is now dead.... they'll refuse and rightly so I'm afraid - forget this, you've more chance of plaiting fog

Hey no harm in asking, nicely, but I can't see them agreeing as they'll use the same old story "sorry, it's a true reflection of how you ran the account so we report it......"

No probs at all - given I've pretty much all my lovely defaults including these two coming off during 2014 I may just leave it.

I thought as they were satisfied it may improve my chances of having them taken off.

Nah, right banks are not entertaining customer service for defaulted accounts - its the last thing on their minds and they just refer to McGuffick unfortunately.....
