  • Letter from RBS-defaulted account

    Hi all
Having started to help out a few peeps in my life with debts and most recently my SIL.
she had an old current account with RBS, defaulted July 2007 and recently wrote to them and got SAR'd details.
I am now looking at a letter where they say it was defaulted on 24 July 2007 but there is no record of the default notice as they are issued by an automated system???
So if there is no DN then does that not invalidate the default with the CRA??

Friendly advice. The UE route is extremely time consuming plus you need to be clued up at all times.

We try and avoid giving 3rd hand help as a mistake could affect our brand reputation and your friendship. It's easier to get the debtor to create an account and post their own stuff.

We're 3 years in - never yet seen a dual account as it just won't work. Just be careful and please do not refer to us if you're helping others.

    Thanks

        Re: Letter from RBS-defaulted account

        Hiya

Yea yea I don't mean it like that. I mean friends & family are best doing their own as no two cases are the same so you cannot compare. Basically, if they can register that's fine.

However if you're doing it for them, IF they get a claim we'd then need to speak to the friend anyway so sometimes it's best to let them do their own as it also teaches them the process.

You dealing with your fella's is fine. It's the 3rd parties we are sceptical about as this info can easy get mis-directed in which case you "could" leave them wide open to legal action.

Just think about this. You won't have time anyway when you're fighting your own cases

            Re: Letter from RBS-defaulted account

Just to confirm what Niddy says, i am on here soley to help with my mothers debts.

She cant use a PC so i do it for her.

Luckly i dont have any debts so i need not confuse hers with mine, but from dealing with hers, its a lot of work, and id dread to think how confusing it would be if i was dealing with 2 peoples debt matters.
