    Greetings All,

I'm trying to scan two payslips only they are not coming out very well due to the paper being thin I think and the text on those slips being a light grey so the info I want to be clear is not very.

Anyone have an idea how to get a better image of this at all

    Thank you

        Re: Scanning

The inside of a scanners lid is already white to do just that.

In this case, perhaps it is the reflected light from the white inside of the lid that is causing the problem?

So perhaps a dark/black piece of paper or card behind?

            Re: Scanning

Do you have any image manager like "Photoshop" M8?

You know I am looking at photographing microfiche blueprints, well I have been experimenting crudely with my little digital camera on various sizes of text documents etc. Even a fairly crude image can be manipulated by turning into greyscale only and then messing about with brightness, contrast and saturation.

Obviously I have been imaging black/grey on white but I cna now turn them using the invert command into something which looks exactly like the microfiches I examined in the archive a little while ago.

Tomorrow is actually my next visit and they are allowing my camera and laptop so I can experiment a bit.

            regards
            Garlok

Camera now that is a good idea.

putting a darker sheet behind it did not work well probably because the actual text is not very bold and more like a light grey typewriter text.

                Regards

                    Yep. Probably.

Last time I had to scan something reasonably translucent, the dark background helped a lot. But if you lack contrast even with that, you will struggle regardless.
