Everything is going fine thanks Niddy.

All family members are on the mend from various illnesses, thank goodness. We seemed to be forever at the hospital visiting someone.!!

Can't believe that we have been on the UE trail for over 2 years now, time seems to have gone so quickly. Just been away on holiday for a week, so feeling quite chilled out.

Hope that you and your family are keeping well.

          Hiya Folks

Just an update on the 2years and 6 months mark.!!! I really cannot believe how quickly the time has gone and how drastically our lives have changed for the better.!

When we started out on our UE journey, I really couldn't ever envisage getting to a stage in our lives when our money worries would ever take a back seat, but now 2 and 1/2 years later that's exactly what has happened. We live life to the full, no credit, all cash.....and would never dream of getting something that we couldn't pay for up front.

Out of our 6 creditors, we have 3 who have written saying that they cannot enforce because they cannot produce a legitimate CCA, and the other 3 have almost given up. I say almost because 1 sends us a statement every 6 months, and the other 2 keep selling us on to debt management companies. After sending them one of Niddy's letters all goes quiet again for several months.

I do have pangs of guilt at times at the money we havn't paid back, and it doesn't 'sit' well on me. But then I tell myself that had our creditors been fair to us over the 2 and 1/2 years when we were on a DMP, and not clammered for money which we didn't have because we were already paying them everything we had. On top of that they were adding interest which almost equalled our monthly payments, so all in all they have almost certainly had the money back from us anyway. We were at one point paying one creditor £345 per month and they were charging interest at £317 per month.!!! Anyway enough of that.

If anyone should be at the start of their journey, and I know its a particularly scary time, let me tell you that it will all come right...just follow the brilliant advice from the experts on here and you won't go far wrong.

          Thanks Niddy.......

Merry Xmas to everyone, especially those of you who know me from looooooooooong ago.!!

                Hi If.

I remember how scared and worried we used to be everytime the postman came or the telephone rang.....we were a bundle of nerves all the time. Even though we had Niddy's guidance we couldn't really imagine ever getting to the stage we're at now, it seemed a long way in the distant future. But it does happen and to anyone starting out, it will happen, so yes, hang on in there.

I wouldn't hesitate in doing it all again now.

                  Hi Niddy.

Yes we are absolutely fine thanks......in fact, fingers crossed everything is blooming marvellous.

Money worries gone, all the family are well and doing good, holidays booked for the next year, got a little bit of savings going on for retirement....so all in all things are so much different to a couple of years ago - this is, as you know of course down to you.!! So I can't say thank you enough.

Hope you and your family are all okay.

Will be around more now.....I feel a bit like the 'new girl' at the moment, but give me a week or two and I'll know a few more folks again.

Hi Elsie52, just started the journey and am in the above position right now, great to read what you have put it gives me and others hope for the future. I had a £1800 debt in 2000, they agreed to freeze interest and accept a reduced rate and then in 2009 they sent me a statement saying I owed over £22,000, they have added interest over the last 12yrs. Niddy says UE so hears hoping. Many thanks again, all the best Pez
