This is a weird one in that *usually* you would be linked to your dad, financially as a result of the joint mortgage - can you check your credit files (see here: ---> viewtopic.php?p=158#p158 ) and look under "financial associates" to see if you're linked, in which case you ought to forget UE until you create what is known as a financial disassociation with the 3 CRA's.

However if you're not, and as it is simply a mortgage and not general day-to-day living (i.e. hubby/wife) then a link shouldn't really be created as it is clear you're financially independant (being you don't "live" as a couple with shared income) meaning anything you do, shouldn't affect his credit.

However, the fact you're on a DMP is the same, unless you make full payments to your debts then you'll still get late payment markers and defaults etc so it will have the same effect as if you went down the UE channels anyway.

I'd spend some time and read this to get an understanding of unenforceability (UE) and then if you want to proceed, read the guide below: ---> viewtopic.php?f=13&t=401

How to create a UE Diary: ---> viewtopic.php?p=6789#p6789

Niddy, I think this is a friend of mine who I said to seek your advice. Can you help her with advice if UE is not the way forward, or should I direct her elsewhere?
