An email arrived in my junk folder today. It looks suspicious, but is also causing me some concern.
The sender is L.McNamara, and when I hover my mouse over the name, the sender address is @scotcourts.gov.uk.
The Subject Title is 'Notice to appear in court' followed by a reference number.
The text of the email reads
Notice to Appear,
Hereby you are notified that you have been scheduled to appear for your hearing that will take place in the court of
London in March 15, 2014 at 10:00 am.
Please bring all documents and witnesses relating to this case with you to Court on your hearing date.
The copy of the court notice is attached to this letter.
Please, read it thoroughly.
Note: If you do not attend the hearing the judge may hear the case in your absence.

Points which seem suspicious:
Notice supposedly issued by Scotcourts, but the hearing is to be in the court of London, which is not very specific.
Hearing date is 15 March, which is a Saturday. I didn't think that the courts sat on weekends?
Grammar and punctuation.
There is a zip file attached, which I am loath to open for obvious reasons, and I don't have a current Winzip subscription anyway.
I live in England. I have debts with Mint (RBS) and Bank of Scotland. The latter has previously admitted to not having the original agreement and so is prevented from enforcement, and have not contacted me for months. The former is still in default of my CCA request, having recently once again stated that they require my signature and confirmation of my current address. My response was a slightly tweaked Niddy special telling them to stop playing silly buggers. There has been nothing resembling a LBA from either.
All of this makes me think that the email is dodgy, but I shall be very grateful for informed opinions on this.
