had a letter from Southern water just recently, stating that if i do not allow them to fit a water meter within the next 2 months, they will charge me in excess of £800 for the next financial year! I'm a single person and live in a single person property.

It is my believe my mum in law who lives with us has been miss-sold a homeserve policy, she pays and always has done the water bill for our property and thus believe that was the root to being sold it.

All this is unbeknown to me and only just found out by checking her bank statement due...

I'm currently on JSA and already have my income squeezed via gas and electricity (pre-payment meters) and council tax deductions from my benefits. Water bills are not a "priority debt" as I understand it, although they can still threaten court action etc. I've tried talking to them before...

I got my water bill end of February and didn't pay it. I got a red bill stating I'd entered their debt recovery process end of March. It stated "we enter defaults with the CRAs" etc

My water bill this year (Welsh Water) Dwr Cymru

Water Charge @ £215.72
Sewerage Charge @ £300.00

Total for year = £515.72

@ 10 months installments £51.87

3 bed house, one bathroom with shower, one toilet, and 4 of us live in the household....

Send form back with details of income 2011 to 2012 a few weeks back, I know they received it, as I have track and trace confirmation details, so does anyone know how long it will take to hear back from them.
I would say it's going on 3 weeks since they received it.

Received my water bill in the door this morning, crikey it's gone up lots.

Although I expect others will be paying more than me so I shouldnt really grumble really.
What I would like to know is, does the actual bill go on your own individual household itself?

I have been been having problems with Veolia Water for a few years now, the water bill for me for a single person living in a 1 bed flat with no bath or garden is around £50 per month. A bit excessive I thought but they insist that is the correct charge according to the water meter they installed....
