I'm trying to help out a friend who is in receipt of just a state pension but has several savings accounts.

As far as I can see her income is below the threshold of 15,600 but has been paying tax on her savings schemes with her bank.

I would welcome any experiences or comments on this company. My daughter (single) has received a letter from them claiming they have evidence of her not declaring a change in circumstances. We have just spent an evening running 12 months bank statements, utility bills, and phoning to obtain a tenancy...

As many of you know my hubby returned to one of his old employment just recently, due to order dropping a downturn at the previous job, now he had the tax code for uniform tax.
Then P45 he handed to the now employer should they use the same tax code, or will hubby have to re-apply again?

Is it really right you can reclaim on uniform tax, for the reasons of using works uniform and having to wash them yourselves?

If this is the case, my hubby's wears work tops, occasionally bottoms too, that I have to wash at home, and have been wearing works uniform for a number of years....

Just had a interesting little piece if information about PPI refunds, you may all know this but I was unaware.

It appears that you should declare the additional interest on the compensation at 8% that is paid on top of the refund of payments and interest to HMRC.
