LLoyds Classic Account -Service Charge

Hi folks
I found a very old statement from 1996, and it was just a classic account, but they charged a service charge.

Now does anyone know anything about Service charges? (think these were chargeable each month) so am curious if this is the same as paying for a packaged account with it being so long ago, as I was always moved up from about 1999 onwards from what I can remember.

I found that with most banks, if I had a current account they wanted money from me each month as soon as I turned 18. Even though it's the basic account!

Was you sold packaged accounts after that?
