I won't suggest stretching it Shucks that's bad luck.
I am assuming it is 6mm 3 core flex going to a 240v commercial round pin socket and not a flat cooker type cable.

You could used a junction box to extend it but this would havew to be left accessible and would probably count as a new installation.
If you could have a trailing socket extension made up this would only need a PAT test to be covered for Health and Safety.

If I was still a practising Spark I would go for putting a new cable on as the fastest and best option. Only 3 wires to connect 6 if you include the plug.

      Regards, Handy.

Thanks for your PM on this...........In the end I moved the 30 amp socket down a bit as there was a bit of slack behind ...straightforwards in the end...
          Thanks again

BTW Handy, I forgot to say thank you for your suggestion about my drawers (flat pack - filthy minds back in the sewer please )

I bought some thin strips of wood, cut them to size and glued them to the drawers just above the 'notch' for the runner - perfect!

              Handy where were you yesterday?

Nowhere near me before lunch that's for sure...

Could have done with you (pics to follow)

Was stressed out with the macrisis..... and decided to go get a sandwich pre postie......

Got downstairs and low and behold there's a blue leather arm chair at the bottom of the stairs...

With some help to get it in the lift (lift is very tiny. How you get a double bed in there I have no idea!!!!) I got it upstairs.....this was the easy part

Next job is to get my old sofa over the obstacle course and out to the landing. Push, pull and a prayer (and about 30 minutes) and it's....DONE...

The easy part was dragging it down the corridor to the lift and getting it in the lift...

Then the kind bin men took it off my hands when I got to the trash room...

Now the job involved putting my house back - bookcases, mattress (that was in the hall and bare in mind there's like noway I'm going to get the old sofa past a mattress standing in the hall ) the works...

              Result

One cupcake missing her chocolate chips and a very sore back

Like I said pics of the 'new' chair to follow

Wow look at the dust and cobwebs in here. I didn't realise how long it's been since I called in here last.

Well time to get the broom out and give the place a tidy up.

I was going to post this morning but for some reason the interwobblie went down.

Back in a while with an update.

                Regards, Handy

Hmm I had a problem posting again, but when I post anywhere else it goes straight through. Maybe Lady Hooray is having me Hacked (instead of just Hacked Off ).

Her terrier Freddie found the wildlife pond this morning, LinkallaboutFORUMS - View Single Post - Hooray Hall. Adventures of a Handyman.

The came out completely Black and covered in duck weed. Her Ladyship said if you hold him I will put a bucket of water over him.

No it will take more than that I said, I will have to bath him.

Now in one of the sheds we have a giant belfast sink and electric shower for dog washing. It would probably take a Newfoundland.

The end of the story is that although I washed and scrubbed him, the special shampoo he has (for a skin condition) affected the Chlorophyll in the Duck weed. The result was that no matter how much I washed or shampooed him his Muzzle and Eyebrows got Greener and Greener until his whole face was the colour of new mown grass. If a Dog got seasick this is how it would look.

If it's still the same tomorrow I will try to get pictures.

Well that's removed some of the dust.

                  Regards all, Handy

Sorry all, never managed to get the piccy's. But Freddies green face hasn't faded much so I may get the chance tomorrow.

I normally keep the camera at arms length while working so if anything interesting come along I'm ready. But at the moment I'm giving the Pond it's annual overhaul. I'm up to my armpits in sludge and pondweed and me wellys are full of newts Not the best place for an expensive digital camera.

I may take my old compact tomorrow if I can get the battery to hold charge.

                              Regards all, Handy.

Evening All. You should be glad you don't get smells via the Internet. There is a pungent whiff of pond weed in the air tonight

I have drained it down with a siphon as much as I can now there is only 2 feet of slurry in the bottom, the removal of which should take me most of tomorrow morning.

The Water Lily's have gone crazy again this year. Does anyone want the odd one or 20 for their pond.

I have to remove all the large pebbles from the side of the pond as well, so that all the weeds can be removed. It is a wildlife pond but Lady Hooray thinks you can keep it weed free as well.

I had company while I was working, Frogs, Toads, Newts and a Robin, who was almost walking on the water while hovering inches above. It reminded me of CC's utube clip.

I had Freddie come to help. He's still a touch green round the gills but it is fading fast.

Hopefully I will be filling the pond again by late afternoon.
Don't tell or Neighbours the Fod-Scrotums as I have tapped into the Estates private water supply.

They charge all their tenants a couple of hundred a year for their water, which is frequently contaminated. They always seem to find an excuse to avoid prosecution Anyway I recon that they owe me one for what there hedge cutter did to my car, so fairs fair.

                                Regards all, Handy
