    Is that the Berkeley Hunt?

I have been for a long walk this evening trailing a large bag of aniseed, lets see what happens when the hounds get a sniff of that.
Were you supposed to lay a trail across the motorway and along the railway line?

We are hosting the Hunt Breakfast in the morning. I hope we get a few sab's visit as well.

I intend to dress for the occasion. I have been out this evening and bought a new pair of Wellies. I will christen them when I clear up the mess that they will undoubtedly leave.

Lady H want's me to take some photographs so get ready for a few tomorrow evening. I have been for a long walk this evening trailing a large bag of aniseed, lets see what happens when the hounds get a sniff of that. Note to self, must make sure that Shadow the Cat is safely out of the way before they let lose the hounds.

      Regards all, Handy

Don't forget to bring all the muck after north LOL

Is the Slurry Lagoon by the Piggery a suitable safe alternative

Good Evening all, it's been another long day so my tales of how the Hooray's Hunt Meet went will have to wait until tomorrow. But let me just say it was the Foxes that won hands down. They only saw one all day and that gave the Hounds to slip by running through the bog in the bottom of the plantation.

One or two hunters went base over apex. It must be a sod getting the mud off those nice red jackets .

I had great fun with the hounds, they really are nice dogs. I think one wanted us to adopt it.

I broke in my new wellies and now the composter is half full again,
we should have a good crop of Rhubarb next year

The Blond bit with the Tray is Mrs Handy (don't tell her I posted her up, she doesn't like her photograph taken).

The Old Gal doesn't look too bad considering she reached statutory retirement age 8 years ago.

I only had one barrow full to clean up afterwards and as there was some booze left over I was given a bottle of Whiskey and one of Port for services rendered, not a bad tip for a mornings work

                  See you all tomorrow.

Go advanced, then scroll down to "Attach Files" and click on the button labelled "Manage Attachments". When the pane pops up for attachments to upload, select the file(s), press the "upload" button, then close the pane.

Hi Folks. Another busy day. I started doing Tree Surgery then move on to an electrical job that involved lighting up half of West Darzet, at least it felt like that. One of Lady Hoorays friends lives right out in the sticks and is holding a private viewing at her gallery tomorrow evening and is expecting over 100 guests. Short of meeting them at the gate and giving each one a torch when they arrive she decided to buy 14 halogen flood lights, thinking that they would wire and install themselves.

So Handy spent the afternoon with a reel of cable and a pair of wire strippers. In the Morning I have to fasten them up and find somewhere to plug them in?

Anyway Tuesdays Hunt meet was a great success.

It very nearly ended in disaster though even before it started.
Juliet the Master of Fox Hounds had arranged with our neighbors neighbours the Fod-Scrotums to use the farmyard next door to unbox the Horses and Hounds. Now at the moment there are builders in the old Farm House and the gate hasn't been shut for years.

You have probably guessed. That morning there was no one about and the gate was chained and padlocked shut.

I noticed this about an hour before they were all due, frantic phone calls trying the get hold of the Estate manager or Sir Tarquin Fod-Scrotum were all to no avail.

About 10:40 I went onto the lane to see a traffic jam of Transporters, 4X4's and Horse Boxes all jammed on the steep part of the lane which BTW is a single track. As it was covered in thick slippy mud nobody was going to reverse out.

I had come equipped with a pair of Bolt cutters, but on inspection I found the heavy chain was securing the gate by being wrapped around the top rail of a wooden fence. One Kick with my size 8 wellie and the gate was open. £40 worth of chain and padlock and one kick gets it open. That's about the IQ of the people they employ

Starting the day with an act of Criminal damage, Not bad at least it earned me an O Handy you are wonderful from Juliet.

A few Minutes later the Huntsman brought the Hounds into the Courtyard.

I had been the last down the Hall steps and I I had a tray of hot sausages in each hand I had left the gate open.

The first 4 hounds didn't stop at the steps but ran straight up.
I called to one of the Whipper's in (that's what they call the Huntsmen that work the hounds) to hold the pack at the bottom of the steps and I would get the strays back.

As I ran up the steps the other 30 hounds decided to follow me instead. I was told later that I looked like the Pied Piper in a flat cap.

I managed to round up 3 of the strays and get them and the rest of the pack back into the yard.

It is amazing that the Whipper's in know the names of every single dog. One chap asked where's Barclay? he was the first hound up. It was then that I realised Lady Hooray had left the Hall door open :wft

I found Barclay relaxing on the Knowle sofa in the sitting room, It was apparent he had paid the kitchen a visit first as a spare tray of 2 dozen sausages was now empty.

I bet he had trouble in keeping up with his mates for the rest of the day.

He was a real character, I think I may put into adopt him when his working days are over.

I promise it isn't that quiet in the country.
                            More to come later.

                            Regards all, Handy

I get that anyway with my mr s card...

Well well well...travels of a cupcake....

I had a few too many coffees in Edinburgh :niddy

Didn't sleep as you know Tuesday night....

Couldn't sleep on Wednesday. Phoned the ward who were too busy to answer my questions about meds....No one knew and there's me in my PJ's (cos the hotel room was either an icebox or an oven) confused and thinking the joggers outside the window were conspiring and trying to send me messages....

And I didn't know what spaceship I was on...

1/2 hour later I'm asking the hotel receptionist (in my PJ's) what spaceship I'm on...she didn't know so I walked out into the street in my PJ's and the next thing I remember is waking up in the castle carpark crying and hearing 'simon' telling me to jump off the parapet... (in my PJ's - don't know how I got there )

I phoned social work who said to get to a policeman but the police boxes in the royal mile I"m sure are for effect only as there was beggars outside one....

I end up at the Waverley....still in my PJ's (primark's finest )...and they take me to the Royal Ed....

So I spend a night chez royal ed.....I'm now home (saw the legend Dr. C yesterday. Couldn't afford the train home) and taking it easy....

                                Yeah LOL about Barclay Handy...

Will try and put up pics later.....

Ratties fed it's so good to be home
