I am not sure that the Co-operative will be able to sustain another 632 branches, lets not forget they have only just brought Britannia Building Society and are still undergoing the merger.

Repeat of the RBS fiasco maybe? time will tell

        Hi PF,

Hmmmmmm Thats interesting I didn't know. When we took out this last short term mortgage, just a small amount of equity out of our house, it was arranged via Lloyds Bank, through Cheltenham & Gloucester (wholly owned by Lloyds) and ended with someone called "Platform" who it turns out are/were part of Britannia Building Society.

Just a little food for thought yes?

        regards
        Garlok

Platform are a quite a good lender but I really only use them for Buy to let mortgages.

They do mainstream mortgages and near prime as well though.

              Garlok,

The only reason I knew this was because until recently I was a very good cutomer of the Co-op Bank for many years and they informed me whilst I was in the process of getting my PPI money back.

Had they of sorted this in a timely manner and not told lie after lie and forcing me through the FOS route I would still be with them but such was the claim that took near on 3 years to complete and cost them a lot more than it should I had to move to nationwide.

Is funny how they could complete a merger in under a year for a large chunk of Lloyds but my wee claim took 3 times as long lol.

              Regards
