    Consumers losing millions as government stalls on banning ‘rip-off’ credit and debit card surcharges. Consumers are continuing to pay sky-high debit and credit card surcharges as ministers drag their feet over banning excessive charges by the end of the year. Despite the government committing to ban excessive card surcharges by December 2012, speaking today the Treasury Minister, Mark Hoban MP, did not confirm that it was sticking to its promise to bring in the ban by the end of the year. While the government stalls, airlines, ferry companies and even a government body are cashing in with fees well above the cost of processing debit card charges and more expensive credit card transaction fees.....Read more here
