    What do they mean by criminal "enquires will come after . . ."

    I may have a brown envelope or two which I haven't opened and dealt with yet

          This is nothing new as far as i can see.

          Trouble was in the past, the penalties for non or late submission was so pathetic that people would wait a year or 2 before submission as the fine would be cheaper than the tax owed.

          Also, previously if you had no tax to pay, they would say no more about it, but not now.

          As from last year 2010/2011, fines are £100 for late submission, and £10 per day up to a maximum of £1200.

          We sucessfully defended a penalty charge for £660 recently, due to them cocking up, but there are certain clients, who never get their SA's done in time.

          Personally, im glad about the increase in penalties because it keeps me in a job lol.
