    Rent arrears fastest-growing problem, says charity

    Rent arrears are becoming the fastest-growing debt problem in the UK, according to the Money Advice Trust charity.

    and MP's say things are on the up..... For whom exactly? If people are struggling to pay rent and mortgages how on earth can things be on the up?!
    When Gold isn't enough, there is SA Gold! New to the forum and find the UE route a bit scary? Take a look at my diary here and judge for yourself. I am now saving the money each month that was making little difference to the balance and not a bit of difference to my credit file as a result of finding AAD.

      Indeed - but there is something here that is missing for me which is whether these people are also in arrears with credit card/loan debt.

      These companies are VERY good at harassing people to the point where they will pay these debts over their rent/mortgage (I know - been there).

      So question for me is - did those people who fell in arrears do so to pay unsecured debt.......

        MP's salaries on on the up so why would they care about the rest of us until the 7th May 2015.

          The increase in rent arrears is more than likely due to the bedroom tax. Many people who have previously kept their rent up-to-date have now fallen into arrears because they simply can't afford to pay the bedroom tax.

            That's a very good point SnV. Landlords are often more understanding than these maggots at the banks, thats for sure
